COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Good old Bramling Cross is elegant, refined, assured, (boring) and understated. Understated that is unless you hop the living daylights out of a beer with it. This is Bramling Cross re-invented and re-imagined and shows just what can be done with English hops if you use enough of them. Poor Bramling Cross normally gets lost in a woeful stream of conformist brown ales made by sleepy cask ale brewers. But not anymore. This beer shows that British hops do have some soul, and is a fruity riot of blackberries, pears, and plums. Reminds me of the bramble, apple and ginger jam my grandmother used to make.

Don’t you hate it when brewers print on the bottle everything you’re supposed to see, smell and taste in a beer? Me too. Every set of taste buds, palate and olfactory system are different, but I digress… so: Bottle... Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is sharp, funky and herbal with just a whisper of vanilla. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor definitely tips its hat toward the bitter side of balance, but is quite flavorful and refreshing. It’s obviously not all about the bitterness with this Ipa. Finishes moderately bitter, spicy, herbal and Sahara-dry. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

TrefwoordPunk (1201) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 24, 2011
Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small white head and an aroma of mainly hops and some citrus, molasses and overripe fruit. The taste seems sticky and sweet at first and then turns more hoppy. A really nice medium-long bitter finish. Pretty good.

Draught at Ølbaren. Clear orange red coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of hops, grass and pine needles. Fruity flavour of caramel, liquorice, hops and grass. Dry hoppy finish.

Ultima delle single hop assaggiata, all’O Connor pub di Genova Quarto. Si pone terza classificata, il luppolo tipicamente inglese dalle caratteristiche già spiegate in descrizione è buono e deciso ma non ai livelli delle altre due. Amaro notevole, 75 ibu (!), Buona

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Beautiful amber clear body. Hay buisquit malt aroma. Dry and lovely malt flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness that stays for a long time. Alcohol level just right. Low carbonation.
