keg and bottle, 2013 release
Using the same base 6.7% beer, a baby version of our Hardcore, we slam a mouth puckering 75 IBUs on top of a base of Marris Otter, Crystal Malt and Caramalt before throwing dizzying amounts of hops at these beers.
The Pacific North West of America is home to the brand speanking new El Dorado Hop. America is not just about cheer-leaders, a silly version of football, elastic top jeans and cheeseburgers. They grow remarkable hops and El Dorado is a killer example of this, embodying all that is good about American hops and then some. A new hop on the block, it may even seduce you into thinking the American Dream is not just a catch phrase to sell movies and elect Presidents. Fearfully hard to resist, this beer is loaded with tropical fruits, pear, watermelon, candy floss and stone fruit. Devilishly moreish.

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 18/20

330 ml. bottle, big head, though it doens’t hold much, but leaves a good lace, nice orange colour. Smell of tropical fruits, tangerine and coriander, spices and also some caramel and malts. It Feels really pleasant in the tongue, not too heavy, not too soft, the same goes for carbonation. Taste of tropicalfruits, tangerine, some caramel... as time goes by, both smell and taste develope and leaves you asking for more. Not the strong falvour of some other IPAS, more balanced between hops and malts, it’s a rich and full of flavour beer, maybe too mild palate, but great.

Visual: (Cellared for 2 years). Pours cloudy brownish-orange without a significant head, a clump of bubbled retention, virtually no activity. Nose: faint toffee barley malt, more pronounced musk. (lvl-5)-pungency Attack: low CO2, thicker mouthfeel Mid-palate: light tingly, (lvl-6-sweetness), toffee barley malt, peach/apricot, hints of pear Finish: hints of watermelon, delayed subtle soft bitter hop, PAPAYA exhale. Summary: Drank after Waimea in the same session. More malt forward initially, brighter stone fruity mids with much softer hopped bitterness in the finish. Lots of fruit but less length of flavour.

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Sweet fruity aroma and sweet floral flavor. Not bad.

Recenzja z 04.08.2013. Barwa jasno bursztynowa, idealnie klarowne. Piana wysoka, powoli opada do cienkiej warstwy i trochę oblepia szkło. W aromacie głownie cytrusy – grejpfrut, mandarynki, pomarańcze. W smaku słodowe, karmelowe. W odczuciu półpełne. Goryczka średnia w stronę wysokiej, mandarynkowa, grejpfrutowa, lekko żywiczna.
