Ruthless India Pale Ale
Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds. For revelling in the mediocre, raising hell and reaping the commercial rewards, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…
Ingredients: Extra Pale malt, Centennial & Columbus hops, dry hopped to 200+ theoretical IBUs with Citra, Amarillo and Simcoe.

Bottle in Brewdog selection box from Sainsbury’s. Super bitter with tropical fruit and resin aroma in spades. Another Brewdog great.

Piwo koloru złotego, prawie bez piany, lekko mętne. W aromacie grejpfrut, słodkie owoce tropikalne, nuty kwiatowe. W smaku wysoka goryczka. Alkohol lekko wyczuwalny, jednak nie przeszkadza. Goryczka kontrowana jest owocowo-kwiatową słodyczą. Piwo bardzo dobre, choć nie wybitne.

Aug. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured almost clear yellow body with a small head. Aroma of tropical fruits, pine and sweeter lemon hops passing smoothly to candy and biscuit. Flavor was bitter of course but actually not that much as one would expect from 200 IBU. Grapefruit hops were dominating, along with grass and pine, with weak malt counterpart - light biscuit and caramel. Still, it managed to leave impression of a full bodied IPA. Finish was long, similar to flavor yet a bit more spicy (black pepper). A nice IPA, expected some ugly bitterness but it turned out pretty good and not that ruthless at all.

330ml Can: Pours a hazy golden with white head that dissipates. Lacing. Aroma of pine and citrus orange/mandarin. Grassy flavour with a resinous after taste. Malt is subdued by the dry hopping. Bitterness is big but not over the top. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finishes surprisingly dryer than expected. Overall to much dry hopping as it ends up tasting of cut grass.

330mL bottle from Booze Bud. BB 11/12/16 Pours a hazy, almost orange juice-like gold body with dense white head. Punch in the face of hops - grapefruit rind, pine, grass, pineapple, mango - some toasty sort of malt, possibly. Full bodied, actually drinks well for a 7%er, moderate carbonation, bitterness seems tame at first, but it develops.... Kick in the nuts of hops - sucking on grapefruit rind, munching on freshly hewn pine, bombardment of unripe pineapple, and unripe melon, and unripe paw paw, whilst chewing on a blade of grass, or something. Then comes that bitterness - it’s aggressive, goddamn it’s aggressive, takes no prisoners - quite like a jack hammer, lingers, for an eternity.... or the next sip. Yeah it’s brash, but I like it!

kacyper (1423) - Warsaw, POLAND - NOV 23, 2016
Kran. Aromat chmielowy, mocny, karmel w tle. W smaku goryczka spora lekko alkoholowa, spora kontra slodowa. Nie czuć alkoholu jak na ten poziom.

Serapac (482) - CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 20, 2016
Bottle. Trumpesque orange, small disappearing head. Aroma pine needles, grapefruit, hints of malt. Taste follows aroma. Long bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
