Ruthless India Pale Ale

Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds.

For blitzing the mediocre, raising hell and revelling in the aftermath, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, dont say we didnt warn you

Bottle shared with McTapps. Fresh hops all the way with a touch of vanilla. Pepper in the back with limejuice and maybe coriander. Sharp, hard-hitting bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer pours out in a light hazy light amber colour with steady low head and medium body. Aroma of fresh hops and spruce with some citrus hints. Taste of fresh hops, light barley, spruce, oak, pine, citrus fruits, grapefruit, thyme, coriander and mild pink pepper. Very quaffable and enjoyable.

Bottle. Resin and pine on the nose. Pours a clear yellow orange with quite a nice head that recedes somewhat, good lacing. Taste is upfront, full-on: not a lot of subtlety here, but hey! Thats a big, satisfying IPA for you. Wouldve thought it was West Coast had it not been Brewdog. The palate is full and fulfilling. Big, bitter grapefruit finish. Good stuff.

Bottle shared by Pure Evil. Thanks! Hazy golden yellow with a tiny white head/ring clinging to the glass. Aroma is bready malty with citrus hops. Taste is as above but with more punch to it. Medium body, soft carbonation. Heavy grapefruit bitter aftertaste.

330 ml bottle. Golden orange colour, thin white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus and floral hops. The flavour is grapefruity, with malty notes, pine, and a dryish herbal hoppy finish. Very tasty.

Lovely light colour with a foamy head. Gorgeous citrus nose. Bitter up front that doesn't go away. Smooth. Heavy. Yummy

Poured from a tap. Clear, pale orange colour. Brilliant nose. Hoppy, fresh citrus, grapefruit sharp some piney also. Dry in taste, fruity with bitter aftertaste. Simply the best IPA from BrewDog.

33cl bottle from "cerveteca" bar in Lisbon. It pours an opaque golden color with a very creamy and persistent white head. Aroma is of a strong pine grassy hops, some floral notes and a heavy fruity green mango nose. Taste is overwhelmingly hoppy and piney with some malts. It begins with some fresh sweetness from the citrus and ultimately ends with a very long and powerful bitterness. It is moderately carbonated with a medium body and a very dry finish. This is definitely a "hop bomb". One of the best I ever tasted. I would definitely try to taste more beers from this style. Cheers for BrewDog!

Excellent authentic west coast IPA, very bitter but thats how a real IPA from the west coast IPA should be, highly recommend this to any hop heads out there!
