Ruthless India Pale Ale
Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds. For revelling in the mediocre, raising hell and reaping the commercial rewards, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…
Ingredients: Extra Pale malt, Centennial & Columbus hops, dry hopped to 200+ theoretical IBUs with Citra, Amarillo and Simcoe.

Bottle 330 ml from Tesco, Holland Park. Aromas of flower, pine, grass and citrus. White head and clear golden body. Taste is bitter and floral with notes of pine and grass. A nice citrus rounds it off. I have to say this is my favorite among all Brewdog’s beers that I have tried so far. Good beer!

(330 ml bottle) Pours a crystal-clear straw-yellow beer, with steady medium carbonation, and a small foamy white head. In typical BrewDog style, the aroma is laden with hops: lots of grapefruit, lemon, candied peel, blood orange, fresh grass, nettles, and dank undertones. It’s searingly bitter, but with a strong caramel malt base. Slightly effervescent medium mouthfeel. This is a very bitter IPA, that could do with more complexity, but is nonetheless well rounded, and packs a proper punch.

Look: golden. slightly hazy, stable white head. Aroma: fresh lemon, herbal hops (green basil, wormwood, lemongrass), juniper. Taste: bitter with subtle malty sweetness. Flavour is on the hop side. Fresh, hoppy, very drinkable despite 7% ABV

Clear gold color with small white foam. Aromas of fresh wild hops, with rather earthy, citrusy notes followed by other more fruity hoppy touch. (unfortunately window is open and the wind is blowing from the wrong side and now all I can smell is horse manure. Joy.) Palate, full body with smooth texture leaving rather dry finish. Taste, bitter hops, rather very bitter and well bit citrusy, very well hidden boozy touch but mainly just bitter hops. Overall, not bad rather hop loaded IPA that is genuinely hoppy as should be.

Bottle from Damian Beer and Ale. Pours clear yellow with little white head. Nice aroma of citruses mainly grapefruit. Great rich taste, full of citruses, flowers, very bitter, nice long bitter finish. Great IPA.

Goudgeel, witte schuimkraag, helder, veel koolzuur. Aroma: Zeer veel hop, fruitig, pijnboom/hars, karamel zoete mouten.

Strong hoppy aroma. Small and weak foam. Taste.... this a quintessence of bitterness and hoppyness itself.

tmdaines (186) - Stretford, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JUN 12, 2017
An incredibly bitter and hoppy IPA. It’s not particularly nuanaced and not overly drinkable. I find a lot of BrewDog’s stronger beers to be a bit rich and this is no different. The aftertaste is quite sickly.

vinivini (3134) - Gomel, BELARUS - JUN 11, 2017
33cl bottle. Clear golden ale with moderate bubble white head that stays quite for long. Strong aroma of grapefruit and other citrus fruit. Passion fruit as well. Light to medium body. The dry taste sarts with juicy fruitiness. After that big grapefruity bitterness steps in. Heavy bitter yet no harshness. High drinkability. Very good even when a little outmoded.
