COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This sable stout is black as pitch and smooth as hell. Jet Black Heart is a milk stout; roasty malt flavours of coffee and chocolate, bound to a decadent full-bodied richness.

Flaked oats and wheat add to the velvet mouth-feel, with the carbonation adding a honeycomb texture. Magnum and Sorachi Ace bring a berry & citrus fruitiness that amplifies the chocolate character of this inky leviathan.

Bottle, 330ml. A deep brown colour with a decent brown head. Aroma of sweet grain, milk, some hops coming through. Flavour has coffee, chocolate, caramel, smooth oats, some burnt notes in the finish. Quite nice but I dont expect such pronounced burnt notes in a sweet stout.

On tap at Brewdog bar Tallinn. Pours black with beautiful medium beige head. Chocolate, cocoa nibs, hints of coffee in the aroma. Slight chocolate, cocoa, milk coffee in the taste. Milk coffee in the aftertaste. Very slight notes of cocoa and chocolate as well. Light bodied, well balanced, silky and smooth brew. Surprisingly good. Maybe not enough body, and in some point bit plain, but very well drinkable. Reminds good foreign stout.

On tap in BrewDog Tallinn. Nitro edition. Colour is almost black and top looks and feels like whipped cream - very small bubbled nitrogen foam that feels like liquid silk. Drinking and tasting it is pure joy :) Aroma is quite strong, roasted bread, caramel, very dark chocolate and dried dark fruits. Taste is wonderful! It is rich amd the same time light - it doesnt kick you unconcious as some imperial stouts do, instead the taste caresses your senses and builds up gradually, giving you the time to appreciate the smooth and silky and creamy feeling. Taste has dark chocolate and coffee, dried plums and burnt bread in it, also some hoppy bitterness and creamy sweetness... This beer is dangerously drinkable and tasty, it is a bit too easy to get drunk drinking this pint after pint... Abdolutely splendid creation, possibly one of my favourite beers.

Nitro edition. On tap in BrewDog, Glasgow. Pours black, with nitro perfect pour effect and cascade of quickly disappearing white creamy foam. Aroma of rich roasted malt, mocha coffee, milk chocolate, a little bit of vanilla and nuts. Thick body, fine carbonation and creamy texture. Taste is similar to aroma expectations, sweet coffee, lactose, biscuit, oats, bitter chocolate. I believe that this nitro version from the tap is much better than this same beer from the bottle. At least for me.

mile (3914) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 14, 2017
Bottle. Very dark brown - almost black, small and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish sweetish aroma, light caramel with light roastiness and some coffee, light herbal hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and roastiness with light - some coffee, light herbal hoppyness. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel and roastiness with light - some coffee, light herbal hoppyness. Head is weak and lacks almost totally bitterness (well, it is sweet stout). For those with sweet tooth - not for me.

Tastes kind of sour, not very smooth for a stout. Pretty subtle flavourwise and not much head when poured from a bottle within a few minutes. Not the best brewdog but its rated very highly so maybe Im the one missing out.
