Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer that has been hammered with the epic Simcoe hop. With a drinkability that defies its colour and depth of flavour, Libertine delivers a dark hop bomb combining the west coast hop awesomeness of an IPA, the dark and indulgent malt flavours of big stout with a lightness on the palate that bellies the punch that this beer packs. Bags of flavour and loads of hops. We intend to bottle some of this batch for those not lucky enough to make it to a BrewDog Bar to try it. ABV from 7% to 7.2%.

Bottle. Pours dark black, large creamy brown head, slow to dissipate, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty with a pine and citrus note, some cocoa. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, roasty with subdued hop presence. Medium light body, very carbonated.

Yes, I admit I am singing in the orchestra of Black IPA fans. Extremely smooth, cream finish. Black clear ruby. Nice bitterness. Rich wood aroma, best palate. Pure pleasure.

shared with bartlebier, Bierle, Oldmanriver. My first BIPA so far. Aromas reminiscent very much of a DIPA, fruity hops, peach, passion fruit, as well as the taste. But creamier, juicier. Maybe only due to its colour. A hint of espresso in aftertaste. A great looking beer with a great but almost non-black taste.

Draft. Black pour with a tall beige head, good retention. Aroma is mixed, malt, roast, but also fruity hops. Taste like a stout with more hop presence, fruit, berry, resin. terrific.

Barwa czarna nieprzejrzysta, klarowna. Czuć go jako lekkie grzanie i drapanie w przełyku.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A dark brown, nearly black, beer with a big beige head ; poor retention ; good lacing, tiny bubbles. Intense fruity aroma (red berries, blackberry), herbs, resin, smoke, pepper. Medium sweet, medium dry bitter refreshing. Expressive body, silky texture, good carbonation, dry lasting bitter finish. Overall, delicious fruity aroma, great taste, memorable.

[6403-20140628] Tap. Mild smoked fish aroma. Slightly hazy, dark dark brown red body with a ll foamy mocha head. Smoky cedar and chlorinated metallic pool noodle flavour. Roasted multigrain bread flavour has a lingering malty finish. Full body. Odd, not a fan at first. (6/4/6/3/13) 3.2

Another beer from Brewdog that’s full of surprise and packed with flavour. The simcoe hop hits home soon after the pour. Not floral, not citrus. Peachy perhaps and powerful. The head is nothing special for a dark beer. The taste is the deepest blackberry, with dark cherry and mellow malt. The Finnish is raspingly dry which could be slightly toned back. And the ABV, well it’s wine really isn’t it? And with the size of the bottle that’s the way I’m gonna treat it.,

This is a solid brew, Nice toasted choco malts. The hoppiness could be a bit stronger, a bit more piny bitterness
