Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer that has been hammered with the epic Simcoe hop. With a drinkability that defies its colour and depth of flavour, Libertine delivers a dark hop bomb combining the west coast hop awesomeness of an IPA, the dark and indulgent malt flavours of big stout with a lightness on the palate that bellies the punch that this beer packs. Bags of flavour and loads of hops. We intend to bottle some of this batch for those not lucky enough to make it to a BrewDog Bar to try it. ABV from 7% to 7.2%.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2016 Pours black with a good beige head. Aroma of pithy citrus and pine hops with a subtle hint of roasted malt in the background. Smells like a pale American ipa. Taste is citrus and fruity with hints of biscuit malt, mild coffee, and finishes like fresh orange juice! Medium bitterness and good carbonation. Very good!

33cl bottle. Black with a average frothy head. Fruity hops and coffee, roasted grains. Moderately sweet, bitter finish. AVerage to soft carbonation. The hops are very much those of an IPA but the malt base hangs over the stout territory. Most CDA I tasted before were more like an IPA with a light roasted character. This one is really a cross in between styles and in the end it does not really join up very well.

First brew i bought from brewdog, will get lots more for sure. Aroma is coffee, taste is hoppy but not too bitter at all. Pours black with a brown lasting head.

Good looking beer - pours dark brown to black with off white to yellow head and nice lacing. Aroma is promising - hybrid of stout and IPA mostly works. Don’t serve this one too cold or will miss most of it. There’s pine, dark caramel, ash, mint, raisin, milky coffee and tangerine, but a touch metallic. Taste is smooth, quite bitter, decent body and sweetness, with a touch of booze in the medium finish. Stout and IPA fairly evenly matched in there, with IPA more on the nose, stout more on the finish. Nice beer - would like to try an imperial version of this!

330ml butelka. Kolor Czarny, minimalnie przeswitujacy. Piana obfita leczy szybko opadajaca. Ladny lacing. Aromat mocno owocowy (ciemne owoce i cytrusy, las, jagody, czarna porzeczka). Niesamowity smak. Bomba owocowa z lekka, zanikajaca goryczka. Dobrze ulozony alkohol sprawia, ze piwo jest bardzo latwo pijalne. Niesamowite! Pozycja obowiazkowa od BrewDoga

Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, and some hop earthiness. Taste is rich malts, caramel, toffee, slight vanilla and tart which mingles together quite affectively. Appearance is black with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Chmiele: Simcoe.
Kolor: Czarny z minimalnymi refleksami.
