4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
An excellent black IPA with huge dark malt flavors and plenty of hops. Deep black in color with a nice tan head. Medium bodied. Excellent to style.
Pours near black with a frothy tan head. Nose is mostly roasted malts and thus a bit of coffee, with a few shades of hop florals. Flavor is sharper with a good bit of hop bitterness and a little alcohol to balance with the dark malts. A little wayward but not bad. ChrisOfstad (446) - Hamar, NORWAY - JAN 5, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2018 2/3 pint at Brewdog Soho. Almost Black with medium offwhite head. Caramel, grapefruit malts and hops. Termindato me off zalo, but OK. theprof (1365) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2018
Tap at Brew Dog. Pours decidedly black with tan lacing. Aroma has the citrus hops that makes this a new style IPA but it is emphatically black. Like porter, the black IPA is tricky especially in the taste. This is medium to light bitter with a mild sourness. Palate is medium to light body, thinnish feel, and a sour finish. But in the style it is more than solid. Fullpintofbeer (495) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2017
Bottle @BrewDog, Bristol. Medium off-white head, black colour, fair lacing. Aroma: grapefruit peel, mango, pine. Light bitter, medium finish, medium body, soft carbonation. Fortunately no traces of ash or roasted malts, could have got more body. a_iskender (27) - Istanbul, TURKEY - DEC 17, 2017

2/3 brewdog Camden. I thought this would be better, although it is good. Smells of nothing interesting. Tastes good. The black dominates? p0urmeac0ld0ne (407) - Merthyr Tydfil, WALES - DEC 10, 2017
Stunning… truly, beautifully, genuinely stunning. Yes, it is easily identifiable as a BrewDog beer, their choice of hops always seems to see to that, but this is just fantastic. Imagine a hopped up stout, and you're on the right track. Dark, almost completely black in colour, and smooth to drink. The hop finish stays with you for quite some time. Great beer. More of a surprise to myself than anything, but I’m finding BrewDog’s stouts to be some of my favourite beer. I’ve yet to try one (except maybe Jet Black Heart) that hasn’t wowed me (inb4 "it's not a stout!"). Betta (43) - ITALY - DEC 1, 2017

On tap at Brewdog Barcelona. Pours a thin black with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malt, bitter cocoa, coffee, mild grass and citrus notes. Taste: roasted malt, citrus, pine, mild coffee flavours. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Moderate lingering bitterness. Well balanced. Quite tasty. This is one of Brewdog's better beers. Will happily have this again!
