Brewed for the Lichtenstein exhibition at the Tate modern in 2013 l
We all got understandably pretty excited when the awe inspiring TATE Modern asked if we wanted to work with them to brew a special beer to mark the launch of the upcoming Lichtenstein exhibition there. Damn right we wanted to. The result being this awesome 5.2% pale ale. The label features original Lichtenstein artwork and is quite possibly the coolest beer label on the planet.

Hazy amber beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Palate is minerally crisp. A little creamy malt supports a refreshing combo of minerals and good hops. The hops start mildly skunky but turn to great lemon and orange sherbet citrus. Touch of sweet pine. Finishes with light fresh orange and touches of sweet peach and hop skunk. Very nice indeed!

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Procured from The Tate Modern. Pours perfectly gold with a fine, creamy white head. Some spicy pine in the nose, sweet pale malts, hints of tangerine. Light to medium sweet flavor, lightly tangy citrus, melon, grapefruit, mandarin orange. Light bodied with average carbonation. Further tangy citrus fruits to finish, lightly spicy pine, light sticky resins, pine needles. Very nice, drinkable APA.

330ml bottle (Kittys, Helsinki)
Adequate hopple sweet APA aroma. A touch cleanery, a dull piney citrus. Sticky palate, crisp carbonation. Retronasals quite zesty. An OK pale orange, and a brief tight white head. Typical brewdog sticky mashy malts, but less offensive than normal. The hops are pleasantly bitter, quite herbal. Finish is resiny and dry. Late finish even a bit nutty. Pretty good for things classified as APA.

Bottle at BrewDog Shoreditch. It pours clear amber with a thick white head. The nose is pungent hop, earth, citrus peel, orange and passion fruit. The taste is lemon, grapefruit, citrus peel, spice, dough, earth, light resin, floral aspect and nice level of bitterness with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Tasty lower ABV BrewDog offering. Flavoursome, well balanced and very drinkable.

330ml bottle from Brewdog online shop. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white head, and a steady stream of large bubbles. Grapefruit, lemon, pine and resin from the hops, touch of something spicy from the rye. Good bitter taste, and a touch of light caramel malt sweetness. Medium body, smooth-to-oily texture. Nice.
