Pours a mahogany color with very little head. Starts off fairly boozy with a fair amount of rum and alcohol to it. Mellows out decently to reveal oak, dark fruit, and charred barrel. Some vanilla and dark caramel sweetness, perhaps a hint of licorice. The flavor is a bit on the hot/boozy side as well, but still has some good brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, and caramel sweetness. A bit of oak, mild licorice, and some dark fruits. armando629 (2456) - Budapest, HUNGARY - SEP 22, 2012

33cl, new exclusive Scottish collab. brew Anno 2011, from The Bottle Shop Canterbury, complex Porter, sweet/woody and slightly alcoholic/fruity, not too heavy, very balanced, hazy, small head, very good brew, yet expensive! LoFi (1763) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 4, 2012
Very dark brown with a beige head that disappears quickly.
Aroma: quite boozy, rum & coke, licorice, buttery. Doesn’t sound too promising, but is quite nice actually.
Taste: very vinous, rum, wood, dry, tart with red berries. This is something that takes over the licorice, chocolate and toffee background. T scores a weak 7.
Well, the barrel aging takes over a bit too much here. I am tempted to give a lower score, but it is quite nice all the same.

Bottle 0,33l. A clear, reddish dark brown beer topped by a finger-thick light tan head. Beef stock, some dried fruits, roasted malts, bitterness and some berry-like hints in the aroma. Dried fruits, some caramel, a little oxidation and some alcohol on the palate. Fill body, warming, and pleasantly carbonated. Lasting finish. Certainly a pleasant one, but unbalanced.

A-- Poured a dark, dirty brown color. Good amount of ruby showing through this. One finger light brown head that quickly faded to a collar. Not much retention to this. Some spotty lacing through drinking.
S-- Rum. Lots of it. Gritty chocolate, rum, spices, dark fruits and some oak. Decent nose but not too big.
T-- Dark spiced rum. Good amount of it. Still rather thin though. Cinnamon, dirty chocolate, dark fruits, and carmel. Seems like Captain Morgan really.
M-- Medium bodied and light carbonation. Sticky sweet and a lot of cane sugar. Alcohol drops off but leaves a lot of sweetness. base beer is not all there. Very thin but gritty and earthy body.
O-- An imperial porter, not an RIS. Not a big enough body and the box says Imperial Porter. Barrel adds a lot of sweetness to this and not much else. A dark rum and not a spiced rum would have been a better option. No need to age as this is ready to drink now. Finn (8305) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 26, 2012
Flaske 0,33l Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Drukket hjemme 17 Aug 12. Ultradyprød. Pent svakt farget kremaktig skum som varer lenge. God søt rom-aroma. Fløyelsmyk munnfølelse. Smaken har preg av mandler. Blir etterhvert søt og holder seg vel søt. Bra men uspennende. Foffern (2047) - Bodø, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2012
Bottle at home. Pours a deep clear redbrown colour with a brownish yellow medium head that’s pretty sparkly, and fades fast. Very rum and sherry-like aroma at first before dried fruits, leather, wood and brown sugar sets in. Not far from a belgian dubbel. Further on I find chocolate truffles and hints of rubber and anis. The flavour is sweet and more focused on oak and leather. Some coca cola in there, and alcohol warmth in the end. Soft and slick mouth feel, and a very light bitterness. One of a kind beer that would be well enjoyed during Christmas.
