And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Very unbalanced. Hoppy and bitter but no malty body at all. Aftertaste reminds me of chemicals..

So, if you're the designated driver, what to drink? Well, you could do a lot worse than this. Nice brown ale with a bit of head, bit of a malty aroma. Nice hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. A bit if a thin body, but not bad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Best Low/Non Alc I've tasted. The colour/smell/taste are a bit contradictory, probably due to the amount of everything that seems to be in this to hide the elephant in the room of no alcohol. Brown, beige head, bitter, citrus, malt.

Nordcore (1641) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - OCT 18, 2017
Bottle 33 cl Amer clear with a creamy offwhite hed. Hop aroma, light watery with a short hop end.

Dogbrick (13777) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 8, 2017
Sample from growler at the DBLDP on 09/03/2017. Dark amber color with a medium beige head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of hops, pine and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of piney hops, citrus and earthy malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Eerste indruk.

Clear amber beer, thin white head. Dry hoppy aroma with some citrus and caramel. Flavour is dry hop, quite bitter. Not a lot else too it. A bit watery in the mouth but if I had to drink a super-low alcohol beer then I wouldn't turn my nose up at this.

JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2017
Sample at DogTap Columbus on 9/1/17. Pours clear amber to copper with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel and dank hops. Malt and slight caramel flavor with a floral and earthy hop finish.

mabuzzer (909) - Hamilton, SCOTLAND - SEP 2, 2017
330ml bottle. Nutty brown with a decent off white head. Mild hoppy aroma, flavour is malty caramel and with a big fruity hop hit.

easily the best and most convincing alcohol free beer i have tried, however you can still tell that there is something missing. the malts seem much more prevalent than in the rest of the everyday range of brewdog beers (i've just read that there are *eight* malts in this!), and the hop explosion is juicy but somewhat muted. nevertheless, if i was the designated driver, i would want one of these.
