Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and coffee. The flavor is very sweet with notes of sugar, alcohol, roasted malt, chocolate, and wood, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The alcohol burns down the throat. joergen (28461) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 11, 2011

Pitch black colour, no head. Aroma is sweet imperial stout like. Flavour is rather much the same. I don’t even know what to say, you could take any of the beers in the blend, and it would give you quite much the same feeling. Good, but why bother blending these...
Bottle courtesy of Thomas at Cardinal in Stavanger, a huge thank you for this one! Bottle. Completely black, scant dark brown head. Aroma of port wine, licorice, light tar. Taste is melted licorice dipped in chocolate liqueur with vanilla and oak. Absolutely amazing. omhper (25262) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - OCT 13, 2011
Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Very black. Aroma of plums and licorice. Sweet and hugely full bodied. Brandyishand fairly soft with loads of licorice. Not inky at all. Surprisingly good, considering my opinion of Black and the Horizons. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 26, 2011
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a pitch black with a brownish head. Very sweet roast in the nose with a buttery edge. Very heavy body, sweet sweet roast, coffee and raisins with a vanilla note. Ends with a warming alcohol finish but never really boozy. Actually very pleasant. 260911 madmitch76 (25009) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2011

Opaque dark black - brown beer with a small chocolate coloured head. Nose of coffee, chocolate, a little marmite and fruit. Light semi dry palate. Sweet fruit - red fruits. Chocolate, coffee, licorice - aniseed. Finishes with a light touch of alcohol and more vibrant red fruits. Sumptuos, intense, ruinous! Best thing from Brewdog for a while.
