COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bottle contains an India Pale Ale from a bygone era. An era of towering sailing ships, burgeoning empires and world shaping beers. This is an ale hand crafted with British malts and English hops to recreate the epic IPAs that were sent on monumental ocean voyages from England to India by sea in the 1800s.

Old World IPA is an attempt by punk post modern Scottish Brewers to pay tribute to a 200 year old odyssey and heritage with a healthy dose of swash-buckling adventure.

(bottle, 66cl, 7.5% abv) Hazy, amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Fruity and slightly resiny hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, grapefruit and a touch of nutty cara-malt. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Delicately bready cara-malty base with resiny, herbal and slightly fruity hops; moderately dry and bitter finish with assertively earthy, herbal and slightly resiny hoppy notes; also a touch of alcohol is detectable. 22.IV.14

Draft @ BrewDog Edinburgh. Not much aroma... Weird. Some pine maybe. Bad keg? Hazy light amber with virtually no head. Yeasty, moderate bitterness, light sweetness. Finish is bittersweet. Watery texture. Average carbonation. Weird aftertaste. Seems like a bad keg, just look at the other ratings.

Thanks. 500 ml. bottle split with 3 @ “Procrastinated Spontaneity /…………/ 2 Boekjes” tasting @ Gent. Pours a darker amber, nice big off-white creamy head. Nose is medicinal, dusty, bit weak with some pine resin in the back and cough syrup. Taste of bitter herbs which outnumber herbal pine resin, burned sugar, cough medicine, quite herbal, caramelized oranges. Substantial body. Not a big fan of this, this felt like drinking cough medicine for me.

Bottle frae Brew Dog on-line. Great looking label that. I was completely smashed when I needlessly cracked this open at the end of a heavy night at Weasel’s. My only memory of this beer therefore is one of vague disappointment, and the fact that I chose to pass out rather than finish the bottle perhaps speaks volumes.....whether about the beer or my idiocy in wasting £12 on a large bottle I had a few sips of I’m not quite sure.
