A strong ale, brewed with guarana, Californian poppy, kola nut and Scottish heather honey. A conspiracy of trans-continental ingredients infused with some devastatingly BrewDog imaginative thinking.

Bottle @ home. Vertical tasting of two bottles, one best before 2011 and the other 2013. Both are nicely complex with moderate to high vinous notes. 2011 with a nice mix of raisins, vanilla, herbs, fudge, licorice, honey. 2013 is similar but not as soft and has a bit of stale cardboard development fighting the otherwise nice notes herbs, licorice, caramel and honey. 2011 is still very smooth with a good sweet and warming body and good duration. The 2011 stands as winner is it did as young as well

Bottle. Light Chestnut in colour. Not surprisingly, it is very herbal and spicy peppery in taste. Hoppy; citrus-fruity (bitter orange) and oily resinous hops. Malty, caramel and honey. Dry throughout. Hoppy herbal spicy bitterness over sweet caramelly malts. Liked it. Very interesting beer. (2010-01)

Fules (1306) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - JUN 5, 2016
Koromfekete színű, gyönyörű, óriási, tömör krémszínű habbal, ami jó sokáig megmarad. Illatában erős pörkölt jelleg dominál, némi fűszeres felhanggal. Íze fenomenális. Az erős feketecsokis törzs köré jellegzetes mézes, gyenge mákos lepel borul, némi fűszerességgel megtoldva. Lecsengésében a pörkölt jelleg, és a méz dominál. Igen testes sör. Nagyon finom, bármikor meginnám.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a glass. Translucent medium brown with no head. Aroma is nuts, medium body, low carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is caramel malt, some chocolate, and some butterscotch.

500 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a clear brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have a bigger malt character, caramel, wood, honey, a mild nutty component, some fruity character and mild herbal notes, interesting, a hint of age.

Bottle shared by tmoney99 pour cola brown with thin tan head. Nose peaty, light nut, caramel, toffee. Taste big malt, light peat, nutty, caramel. Finish with honey nut.

En god smag af humle og en hel del krydderier i smagen også. Den kunne godt have haft lidt mere sødme.

Liquide noir, mousse blanche et un mélange bizarre d’amertume et de sucre. Probablement le guarana.

pityu (681) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 27, 2015
Bottled - Black colour, medium creamy tan head, good retention. Chocolate and slight coffee aromas, some herbal notes, alcohol and cough syrup. Taste is bitter, some cocoa, cough syrup and floral hops. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, dry roasty finish. Exciting ale but not my favourite.
