oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - FEB 11, 2008
Bottled. Very deep ruby red, close to black, colour. Aroma is vanilla, tar, licorice, peat and some wood. Flavour is almost exactly the same, but has a bigger touch of smoked wet wood than aroma. The smoked wet wood stays in the aftertaste along with the peatyness. Pleasantly balanced, and alcohol is wellhidden.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2009
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear orangey brown with a beige head. Extremely smoked aroma - peaty smoke. Full-bodied with sweet burned malts and lots of peaty smoke and medicinal accents. Smoky, malt bitter finish with some alcohol. 270609

madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 9, 2010
21st September 2008. Very much like batch 001 (tasted at same time). Smoky peaty whiskey and a little lactose sweetness. Contrasts with batch 001 only in as much as there is a little less peat and it’s not quite as sweet.

cgarvieuk (24515) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 4, 2007
Bottle at home with Fukito... Deep black ... smokey little iodine in nose ... very iodine again in flavour some smokey roast malts ... not as harsh or as burnt smokey as islay 01

Paradox Parallel tasting (with 001), bottle 2 years old
Black color; generous head. Nice whisky aroma, smokey, but it seems to come from the malt; roasted malt and dark chocolate too, and liquorice. Medium body structure, with an excellent mix of caramel, roasted malt and chocolate flavor, duly complemented by a thin and pleasant smoke line. Light liquorice too in the final, still some sweetness (not present in the other batch), light alcohol. Very nice.
