[email protected] Camden, London. Pitch black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is whisky, slight roasted malts as well as liquorice and alcohol. Flavour is liquorice, alcohol, some sweet ripe fruits as well as some whisky notes. A bit too strong on the alcohol, otherwise nice.

omhper (25349) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 5, 2012
Bottled. Very black, no head. Aroma of tar and honey. Mega sweet and fiercely alcoholic with thick oily mouthfeel. White pepper that burns with the intense saccharine sweetness. Crude oil and ink - perhaps the slightest hint of whisky. An imperial train wreck - way too pumped with sweetness and alcohol.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2016 tap at brewdog ... deep black ... thin tan head ... wonderfully chocolatey nose ... soft mellow roast malt ... hint of whiskey on nose ... ahh jura is an islay (or not as it turns out) ... there too much iodine tones ... light smokey ... dark malts ... deep chocolate ... nice base ruined by another islay cask... Turn out Jura isnt an Islay Whisky, which shows how much i know about Whisky but it definitely had quite a lot of those kind of tones that i dont like. Im guessing its the peatyness that i dont get. tk2 ... again smells great ... dark malts ... lots of treacle .. definite heavy flavours i dont like ... id say iodine ... maybe peaty ... definite very whiskey ... and while i do know squat about whisky ... it does seem to have some of the charcater i have all ways attributed to islay im not saying its badly made ... but i couldnt drink even a third of this Bottle at the bat... Bbf 17... Dtunk October 16...dark rich Roast.. Big chocolate.. Heavy chocolate Roast... Rich chocolate Roast malts.. Light smoke.. Complex chocolate Roast 3.8

On tap at BrewDog Camden. Opaque black beer. Tidy tan head. Palate has presence and body but not as heavy as you might think. Smooth with just a little superfine carbonation. Rich dark malt beautifully joined up with the Jura which provides mellow flavour and just a little warmth. Doesn’t come over like 15%. Traces of caramel and aniseed. Finishes semi dry with a little chocolate. Smooth and good.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours pitch black with a beige head. Roasty nose, heavy sugars, some dark dried fruits. Very heavy body, heavy roast and chocolate, some wood and whisky with a boozy finish. Quite some roast bitterness. But hard to drink, hard to digest. 090212
