Bottle @ RBESG 09 Grand Tasting @ [ The Harlequin, Sheffield, England. ]
Clear dark dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is peat, cask wood, smoke, bourbon - whisky, raspberry, some raspbeery sour notes also. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, moderate acidic and bitter with a long long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and creamy, carbonation is soft. Very nice ;O)) Thanx Tom. [20090719]

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe/fonefan. Pours dark brown with a golden redish glare and a small tan head. Aroma is roasted caramel malt and acidic/citric raspberry. Smoked, caramelish, roasted breadish and distinct raspberry fruity flavoured. Bitter and citric finish with a lingering mixed flavour of smoke and raspberry.

Bottled. A deep red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of phenol, alcohol, and plastic. The flavor is acidic with notews of phenols and plastic, leading to a dry and phenolic finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Very dark brown stout, short pale brown head. Strong smoky whisky on the nose with a little raspberry. Light palate, a little dry. This beer is an eye opener! Tart raspberry kicks off and carries through becoming more jammy at the end. Riding alongside is a smoky whisky flavour. These two extremes live together in a house of dark malt. Minerals. Took awhile to decide if I liked it but was ultimately won over by it’s bold flavours and innovation.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Almost black with a warm tint of red and beige head. Weird aroma of peaty smoke and sweet berries - what a strange combination. Medium body, burned malts and ashes, with the sweet berries battling to be noticed, and yes they are there leaving a vague swetness AND tartness. Tart finish. What an interesting brew. 300809

Bottle at Nate’s Massive Birthday Party. Pours dark brown with a small head. Very smokey, some tangy fruits and dark malts, lots of tobacco. Medium to full bodied. Mildly warming finish, light lactic sugar, tons of smoke, some roasted malts. Pretty good.

Bottle at home, big thanks to Fin for digging this retired number out of his cellar for me, 21/05/14.
Black with a well appointed tan head that dissipates a little but stays to party.
Nose is medicinal, tarte raspberry, TCP, peated malt, decaying water melon, light roast.
Taste comprises rich peated malt, tangy raspberries, red berry medley, ligtht smoke, TCP, ashen tones, light bitter roast.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, light boozey ring in the close.
This has held up pretty well for 5 years or so, the nose is a little harsh but this is still a decent drinkable number.

harrisoni (19413) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2009
Bottle at RBESG 09 Sheffield. Raspberry and smoke on aroma. Too smokey for me, too TCP. Good fruit but rest is a bit too peaty/TCP for me.
