Cask at the Brewdog Burns Night dinner at the White Horse, Parsons Green, 25th Jan 2011. Very black with a little bit of beige head. Malty, chocolatey. Good malty flavours. It’s nice and simple, not too out there. Almost more of a schwarz than a stout. cgarvieuk (24236) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 18, 2011
cask at cloisters... deep black ... thin tan lacing ...soft chocolate roast malt nose ... nice chocolate roast ... still little green (from cellar)... light bitter hop ... light charcoal roast... Leighton (21089) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2011
Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours dark brown with a fading, tan head. Roasted malt aroma with some chocolate syrup, sweat and minerals. Very hard malts in the flavor, some modest char and tobacco, light sugars, burnt wood. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Lots of charred wood in the finish, only light sweetness, some leafy bitterness. Actually seems a touch thin at times. Nice overall, but kind of seems watered down. laiti (8374) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 28, 2011

Rather light aroma with cocoa and hints of coffee. Flavour has coffee and some cocoa. Rather thin palate. Riptide lite, I’d say.
Dark brown with a medium tan head. Malty with fruity tones. Malt, coffee, chocolate and hops. Medium body with a nice, bitter sweet finish.

Cask Pint at The Coronet (JDW), Holloway Road, London in Feb 2011 - Black in colour. Very Malty; roasty malts, bitter roast coffee, some chocolate. Hoppy; earthy hops. Mildly bitter very malty throughout with hop bitterness. Understandably thin, but very full flavoured for low ABV. Very drinkable. (2011-02-03)

Cask (handpump) at the Coronet, Holloway on 19 January 2011. Almost black. Generous tan head. Chocolate malt aroma. Dry and ever so roasty. Distinct bitterness on the finish with a hoppy smack in the aftertaste. A little creamy on the palate. Decent drop but not particularly my thing.

On Cask at the White Horse, Parson’s Green. It pours near black with very low carbonation and a thin tan head. The nose is chocolate, roasted malt and burnt sugar. The taste is chocolate, some liquorice, brown sugar, a little grapefruit and charcoal. The body is quite light and the finish is fairly dry. I much prefer the richer, full-fat version of Riptide.
