Mildly bitter very malty throughout with hop bitterness. Understandably thin, but very full flavoured for low ABV. Very drinkable. Rather light aroma with cocoa and hints of coffee. Flavour has coffee and some cocoa. Rather thin palate. Riptide lite, I’d say.
Cask at the Brewdog Burns Night dinner at the White Horse, Parsons Green, 25th Jan 2011. Very black with a little bit of beige head. Malty, chocolatey. Good malty flavours. It’s nice and simple, not too out there. Almost more of a schwarz than a stout.
