Original rating 2010...Chestnut brown, with little head. Slightly whiskeyish notes, vinous aroma with only a little bit of stouty roast. Kind of thin, bit of whiskey note at the end. Dryish.

Pale ruby color, light coffeish aroma. Malty, roasty and nicely chocolaty stout. Good roasted aftertaste.
Hearty stout. The kind that puts hair on your chest. Jet black with little to no head. Chocolate and caramel notes. Some coffee too. Rated 8/2/09

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2008 Bottle, thx to KnutAlbert. Pours an almost black body, with a small, tan head. Molasses, coffee, mocha and some salty licorice in the aroma. Really pleasant. The flavor has a slightly salty touch, with molasses, coffee, mocha, some chocolate and lots of delicious, hoppy bitterness. Full-bodied, silky and smooth in the mouth, finishing both hop-bitter and coffee-bitter. Delicious. Rating: 8-4-8-4-16-4. (080216) FatPhil (17151) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 24, 2008
Bottle. A really dark brown beer with a minimal beige head. Chocolate, some coffee and some hops in the background of the aroma. The flavor is coffee-bitter, with chocolate, roasted malt and some hoppy bitterness. Medium body and a finish with both coffee and hop bitterness and some chocolate. The beer is quite nice, but doesn’t stand out. Actually, it felt a bit boring. (080620)

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2008)
Bacon aroma - gentle sweet burnt coffee or mocha aroma. Fantastic smooth palate - literally silky. Taste follows the aroma. Lovely strong but well balanced burnt taste - though the burntness is in places a bit astringent - but with enough of a malty body and hoppy bitter edge to keep it interesting.
330ml bottle, Kaisla, Helsinki.
Massively walnutty aroma. Soft palate. Big nutty taste. Very smooth. Full bodied. A touch of toffee nut, some tingles of spice.

Soft choco aroma. Dark. Nice and soft through and through. Nice to know that they’ve still got the ability to occasionally make a decent beer. But this is nowhere near the great beer that it was 4 years ago.
Been awhile since I tasted this. From the notes I made I can only see I liked the dark color and the taste was better than I expected. Palate was good, full body finish. brokensail (16670) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Dark brown in color, nearly black. Dark fruit notes along with a decent roastiness. A bit on the sweet side with some brown sugar and toffee. Not too much in the way of chocolate. Hints of licorice along with dark fruit, roast, and dark chocolate. Pretty straightforward imperial stout profile to this one. Dedollewaitor (16419) - Odense, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2008
Bottle at Aarhus beerfestival. Pours black with a off white head. Lots of roasted malts, chocolate & coffee. Only lightly smoked, which for me is quite pleasant. Dark fruits - plums & raisin. Quite dusty & warm. Quite good product!
