2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
2012 production, thanks to a friend in England for mailing a bottle, saving about $110 over the best store price in Australia. Pours clear amber-red with no head, leaving some thin legs, any number of aged spirits would be doing quite well to look like this without artificial colourant. Malty and slightly hoppy aroma with a lot of alcohol. Flavours of clean malt as if it’s a scotch malt whisky but the alcohol very quickly overpowers the early sweetness, with a reasonably amount of bitterness too, with a yeast extract note mixing in later on. Unfortunately the hop bitterness is not clean or sharp and only reminds me of a tainted scotch whisky. Medium bodied, no carbonation, fairly dry and very hot with a fading bitter finish. Within in this small universe of fractionally frozen beers, it’s not nearly as balanced or enjoyable as the much cheaper Tactical Nuclear Penguin.
Shared the bottle with friends, thanks to Paul! Insane! Heavy licorice, malt and hopped to the extreme, like drinking whiskey, so glad to have had the experience, really enjoyable! Almost poured like port, deep dark tawny colour, no head.
We got both barrels from the Bismarck but we sunk the bugger! Maarten1993 (1309) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - APR 12, 2017
Drank 28-3 @Majid the night before going to Struise. Very special. Very, very sweet start. Then some metally liquorice. Not really beer anymore. But very rich taste. martin00sr (4084) - Haderslev, DENMARK - APR 1, 2017
Clear amber, no head. From 25cm away the aroma is slightly dipa’ish, but at a smaller distance than that it’s just plain alcoholic burn. Flavour is extremely sweet and extremely bitter. Alcoholic with stupid, stupid, stupid morbid fascination.. Fuck...fuck... fucking abomination. Bamsen78 (5451) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 1, 2017

Kołor ciemnopomarańczowy, nieprzejrzysty. Całkowity brak piany, co jest zupełnie zrozumiałe przy tym ekstrakcie.
W aromacie dżem z pomarańczy, brzoskwini i papai. Duża nuta alkoholu, W smaku likier owocowy z dominantą w postaci pomarańczy. Gęste, zawiesiste, mocno chmielone z długą chmielowo-alkoholową goryczką. Alkohol potężny, jak z nalewki owocowej.
Do spróbowania w małej próbce niegroźne, więcej niż kieliszek jednak bym nie wypił.
Aroma: Medium-high hops, alcohol. Medium moonshine, medium-light licorice.
Appearance: Good legs, Brilliant, dark copper body. No head.
Flavour: High "zoute drops", salty licorice, resin. Very high bitterness, Medium-high spiciness. Medium-dry finish with lingering burn, licorice
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, no carbonation, high warming burn on the tongue, later heating the belly.
Overall: The burn is strong, obviously from the alcohol, but it makes the beer difficult to enjoy. I understand that the type of beer this is acceptable. The beer can almost be a strong sambuca with hops. Although it is an experience, it is not something I will recommend.
50 ml share of a 375 ml bottle. Thanks Bradley and Rob for joining the share.
