(BrewDog Steve’s Job) At Haarlem Culinaire Festival, as collaboration between Van Moll/Brewdog/Dutch Drafts and as session black ipa. Dark brown, almost black colour on the body, one finger of thick, tan head on top, with good retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, not as hoppy as I expected although there is some citrus and grapefruit in there. Taste on the other hand has more of the citrus and grapefruit, orange peel, coffee, roasted malts, nice bitterness on the finish, a combination of the roasted character and the hop presence. Medium thin body, good carbonation. Quite good after all.

Very dark brown with creamy head. Nice piney hop notes and plenty of smooth malt too.

On tap at Nederlandse Bieren Festival Delft 2016. Nose is roasted malt, perfume. Body is dark brown, head is medium, beige, creamy, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruits, light licorice, spices. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty and hoppy medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Easy dessert beer, complex, tasty, quite hoppy, black IPA-ish, good one.

From tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam. Aroma is slightly toasted malt, touch of coffee, mild smoke, fruity hops, hint of chocolate. Flavour is lightly sweet and above moderate bitter. Body is medium. Interesting beer, not a complete smasher, it’s a bit light bodied, but certainly enjoyable.

The beer looks great. The color is a beautiful ruby red. It’s dark, almost brown. The beer looks clear. The looks are that of a typical black IPA. On top a nice layer of off-white foam is formed. The foam is very soft and remains on top for quite some time. Nice. The smell is delicious. It smells of typical IPA. It’s very hops and very fruity. I smell lychees, grapes and citrus fruits. It’s lovely. The hops are really fruity and floral. It’s not to bitter. It’s in good balance. The smell has a bit more bitterness. The fruitiness and floral notes are a bit more to the back. There is mainly a bitter toasty/smokey touch to it. The bitterness is balanced out by a nice fruity sweetness. The beer is fresh and the smokeyness is kept to a delicate touch instead of having the overhand. Nice beer and easy drinkable.

Draft @ Kompaan. Pours dark brown beer with a small off white head. Aroma is roasty and toasty, little smoke detected. Flavour is sweet, cookies and light roast. Again very little smoke detected here. Aftertaste is sweet with a light bitter hint. A bit boring.

Tap at Kompaan (Uiltje tap takeover). Clear but very dark brown, creamy light tan head. Toasty caramel malts. Marijuana-like hops. Very dry. Quite watery in a nice way, some burnt flavors in there. Light bitter on a very light sweet backbone. Medium body, low carbonation, chalky texture, very dry and hoppy milk chocolatey finish. Very nice!

At beer temple, pours brown with off white head. Nose is so inviting with plenty of citrus and piney hops. I barely get any smoke out this one which is great. Flavor is grapefruit rind, pine, water and lightly roasty malt. So fresh, hoppy, and drinkable...a rarity in europe

Draft at Uiltje. Dark color. Aroma of soft roast, citrus, peach and something toffee-ish. Sweet soft taste of fruit candy, soft roast and some citrus. Bit strange, but I like it.
