COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
A historically accurate beer based on the recipe devised on the 8th of February 2007.

Recreated using the finest coloured malts which provide the complex sweet malt character which initially arouses the senses. Like a fine cheese cake the biscuit base has a smooth and creamy layer that both satisfies and entices. Culminating with a delicate fruit topping of blackcurrant and tinges of citrus to refresh the participant, complimented fully by the crisp dry bitter finish.

Big hoppy aroma, dusty, toasty, grassy, notes of lemon and marmalade. The flavour is hoppy straight away in a nice chewy mouthful. The sweetness I expected didn’t materialise. The bitterness goes towards the back of the throat and lingers nicely. I’ve rated this highy because I like the hops but others may find a more traditional balanced "amber" more palatable. I like the US influence these lads have.

330 ml bottle brought over by my Aberdeen friend, Bjorn! Nose of floral hops, citrus, caramel, and light berry notes; reddish copper with a big off-white head; flavor has some hop bitterness, caramel, breadiness; finish has hop bitterness with a currant note.

Dark red amber, slightly hazy pour with white froth and lace. Aroma floral and citrussy with hints of rose, orange and hop leafiness. Flavour more of the same- juicily citrussy hops nibbling with bitterness, but softened out by buttery, digestive biscuit-like malt and an oaty aftertaste. Blackcurrant and vanilla. Big character at 5%, and some alcohol presence. Really tasty, well-integrated brew with hoppy cask bitter and American IPA leanings.

A really tasty, great looking pint. Balanced and distinguished, I look forward to trying more from this brewery.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with some notes of caramel.

On gravity at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 2/11/07. Tried as part of the HPS’s beer festival, This was amber with no head. Aroma of orange and red fruit with plenty of citrus hops. The flavour had some biscuit malt before a very long bitter finish. very good.

Bottle. Amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of fudge and fruit, notably dark berries and citrus. Delicious toffee flavours well-balanced by bitterness that kicks in towards the finish. Nice berries flavours as well. Rather flat. Very likeable.

Gravity, Turf Tavern Autumn ale festival. Amber orange, soap froth off-white head. Rich tawny marmalade aroma. Leafy bitterness, sweet caramel touch, tropical fruit, citrus finish with a hint of smoke. Not bad, but maybe not in top form.
