Hark! A limited editon seasonal stout brewed with cocoa nibs and ginger stems.

In the true spirit of Christmas ’cheers’ we at BrewDog have taken it upon ourselves to create a Santas’s little helper for all those battling through the festive season.

Our crack team of elves, penguins and red nose raindeer have been crafting, brewing and perfecting this warming winter stout as a reward for all those driven to the brink and back in the name of Noel.

Now all you have to do is don that customary yule tide sweater and find a roaring open fire to enjoy it by.

In fact this beer is so good, we specifically advise against sharing it with any chimney intruding, night time visitors.

Oh and just remember, this BrewDog’s not for life, it’s just for Christmas.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, and settles black with a big, creamy, dense beige head. Snailtrails are left left and right. Aroma is very spicy. Loads of ginger, sort of gingerbread like, cinnamon, and doughy, bready sweetness. A bit soapy. A good sweetness hits the tongue at first, along with a strange, soapy astringency. A bit too harsh. Light to medium bodied, generously carbonated. It’s definitely christmasy, but like other heavily spiced christmas ales, they don’t really fall harmonize. Decent, but too spiced.

Bottle. Pours very dark ruby red color, that appears black when not hold up to the light, with a frothy beige head. Aroma is of ginger, cinnamon, cocoa , brunkager, pebbernødder and some very faint roast. It reminds me alot of christmas though. Flavor is quite spiced with alot of ginger and some of the cocoa and some cinnamon, i get some faint roasted malt and hops. Yet again the flavor reminds me of pebbernødder and brunkager, and is quite christmasy. The body is light to medium with a slightly dry mouthfeel. Overall an above average christmas beer, but i wouldn’t call this a stout at all, more like a spiced dark ale...

330ml bottle bought and consumed at BrewPub København. Rocky, beige-white head leaving fragile lacing behind. Deep mahogany body. Spiced aroma. Spices like cinnamon and mild pepper to the flavour profile, in interplay with pine needles. Dry and rounded ending. Thin to medium bodied. Easy to quaff (Copenhagen, 13.11.2010).

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to almost black with a tan head. Aroma is straight up annis seed, ginger and roasted malt to chocolate. Flavour is dominated by annis seed, ginger and mild bitterness. Subdued smooth chocolate touch. Ends bitter and lasting spiced.

Looks good, dark brown, almost black and clear. Has a light brown head, mostly lasting. Aroma is heavy spicy, cinnamon. Flavor is even more spicý, too much, like soap. Not good.

soap, kardemomme, kanel, dark golden, brown foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, bitter, to much spice.

Hooray! Brewdog at my local grocery store! Finally! Pours a dark reddish black, small light brown head, rather quickly diminishing. Smells initially of milk chocolate, cinnamon, some ginger and a hint of cooked vegetables. Aroma is old lady perfume, hints of grapefruit and lime, some soap, ginger and cinnamon. I have a slight cold; my senses might be impaired. Body and palate is a bit thin and quite dry. The bitterness is quite overwhelming and not too pleasant. Rather short, chalky, bitter finish. Doubt I’ll buy it again, but at least it’s interesting.

Dark brown with a small off-white head. Strong and perfumed spicy aroma with a touch of dried fruits. Sweet roasted flavour with coffee and chocolate notes, and lots of spice. When you know it you recognize some ginger, but it feels like a big mix of spices. Odd and oddly fascinating
