Hark! A limited editon seasonal stout brewed with cocoa nibs and ginger stems.

In the true spirit of Christmas cheers we at BrewDog have taken it upon ourselves to create a Santass little helper for all those battling through the festive season.

Our crack team of elves, penguins and red nose raindeer have been crafting, brewing and perfecting this warming winter stout as a reward for all those driven to the brink and back in the name of Noel.

Now all you have to do is don that customary yule tide sweater and find a roaring open fire to enjoy it by.

In fact this beer is so good, we specifically advise against sharing it with any chimney intruding, night time visitors.

Oh and just remember, this BrewDogs not for life, its just for Christmas.

Bottle. Pours black with a nice thick espresso coloured head. The head retention isnt too good though - hence the less than perfect score for appearance. The aroma at first is dominated by roasted malts and ginger. After a while the cocoa bits start showing up as well. On the palate it is rather light wiht lots of chocolate flavours and a nice hoppy note. Pretty long finish. A very nice beer that Ill drink again. And for me, thats a big thing with Christmas beers...... This one stands out as being a balanced beer without excessive alcohol.

Deep brown, small brown head. Aroma is christmas, peberndder, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, fresh baked cookies. Taste has cocoa, light body, slightly roasty, roasty sourness, ginger, dry hoppe finish. A really alternative take on a christmas ale.

Bottle. Dark, dark ruby, almost black pour, minuscule off-white head. Aroma is indeed in the spirit of christmas. It smells like all the good christmas-sweets. Lots of cinnamon, ginger, pepper and sugar. Taste is very similar, with sweet ginger and cinnamon, pepper, cocoa. Slightly sour and with some hops in the finish. Big body, low carbonation. As a christmas beer, this is a very interesting and refreshing brew, albeit slightly off-balance and a bit too punchy perhaps. It is very innovative, and an enjoyable alternative to the wide selection of christmas brews.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2010 I love this nose! It just punches me in the face, this bottle of christmas. Gingerbread dough, hint of cocoa and milkchocolate. On the palate is more boring, with less taste. But man, this nose is just great! I could smell it all night long!
