Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours a dark, almost clear ruby-brown with a thick, beige head. Cinnamon and some cocoa malts in the nose. Lots of cinnamon and chocolate in the flavor, with some modest chalk, herb and earth bitters. Medium in body with smooth carbonation. Could do with a bit more sweetness. Finishes with yet more raw cinnamon powder and light malts. Very faint hops in the throat. Very nice beer overall. Rasmus40 (22169) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 4, 2011
Black with a light brown head. Aroma is first and foremost loads of ginger with roasted malt also shining through. Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. The finish is dry and bitter. The ginger is waaay overdone and that is never a good thing in a beer.
9/7/7/9/9/8 fiulijn (21516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 14, 2011
Black color; highly carbonated, with more foam than liquid. Mild aroma of roasted malt and gingerbread. Dry mouthfeel, light body, with strong flavor of roasted malts and clear gingerbread spices. Too dry and roasted for my preference, but indeed it’s a very good blend. It would work perfectly to prepare my Stout Cake. saxo (19583) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2010
Bottle from Brugsen. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are dominated by a horrible spice combination, that smells decent but tastes very bad. Very disappointing.

Bottle at Chris NY Tasting 2010. Dark brown. Lasting beige. Quite a good spice aroma. Not wonderful but a cinnamon sting is ok. Fine rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 11, 2010
Bottle. Dark amber/brown color with a nice creamy beige head. Aroma from ginger, chocolate, pepparkaksdeg, roasted, some cinnamon. Malty spict flavor, ginger, cinnamon notes, hops, rostaed notes. chrisv10 (18733) - DENMARK - JAN 23, 2011

Deep ruby color, steady small beige head. Aroma of cinnamon, brown cookies and toasted malts. Light-bodied, a bit watery palate. Hardmouth feel. Spices (allspice, cinnamon, ginger), light chocolate in the flavor. Quite Christmasy and light. As such, the best to drink with Xmas food.
330ml bottle (Black Door, Helsinki)
5+ Sweet doughy christmas pudding spices, dried mixed peel. A bit sickly.
4 Dark, small off-white head.
5 Meh. Watery spicy taste. Not a stout by a million miles. Looks like the marketting bullshit has crept into the brewing side - this is a gutless beer slathered with caricatured spices. Strangely, I don’t get either cocoa or ginger, which I really like. I’m getting cinnamon and clove, which I dislike. A mess.
3- Fairly thin palate, OK carbonation. Basically only the spices survive into the finish. As I said, reads "gutless" on the beer-o-meter
10 The most positive I can be about this is "drinkable". So certainly not bad enough to throw away, but normally these guys do much better with the dark beers, this has to be one of their worst. Only their hoppy ones have been worse, from memory.
