COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hark! A limited editon seasonal stout brewed with cocoa nibs and ginger stems.

In the true spirit of Christmas ’cheers’ we at BrewDog have taken it upon ourselves to create a Santas’s little helper for all those battling through the festive season.

Our crack team of elves, penguins and red nose raindeer have been crafting, brewing and perfecting this warming winter stout as a reward for all those driven to the brink and back in the name of Noel.

Now all you have to do is don that customary yule tide sweater and find a roaring open fire to enjoy it by.

In fact this beer is so good, we specifically advise against sharing it with any chimney intruding, night time visitors.

Oh and just remember, this BrewDog’s not for life, it’s just for Christmas.

Tasty stuff, dark ruby color with a smooth creamy head. Flavors of chocolate, ginger and blackberries.

Dark with a fine head. Cocoa and christmas in the aroma, with notes of cardamum, ginger and hops. Flavor with ginger and cardamum as well as fainter notes of cocoa and alcohol. This is an excellent christmas beer for my taste.

Bottle. Pours black with a nice thick espresso coloured head. The head retention isn’t too good though - hence the less than perfect score for appearance. The aroma at first is dominated by roasted malts and ginger. After a while the cocoa bits start showing up as well. On the palate it is rather light wiht lots of chocolate flavours and a nice hoppy note. Pretty long finish. A very nice beer that I’ll drink again. And for me, that’s a big thing with Christmas beers...... This one stands out as being a balanced beer without excessive alcohol.

omegamike (152) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2011
Pours a clear, dark amber with a medium off-white head. Light shines right through this one. Aroma is all ground ginger, cloves, maybe even a hint of nutmeg, and easily the most pleasing thing about this beer. The flavour follows on from this, adding a slight maltiness to the finish. Mouthfeel is lacking; it’s too light, and while the carbonation is quite pleasant the beer itself just leaves me feeling unfulfilled.

I really like the name of this beer. It tastes like watery coffee that has had chocolate banana bread soaking in it. The aroma is of chocolate and nutty malts. It’s too light in color for a stout, and the palate is a little watery.

INDASTRIA (129) - Berlin & Rome, GERMANY - NOV 27, 2011
Bottle @ Bir & Fud Bottega. A cinnamon and ginger bomb, nothing more. It remembers me some cake mix rather than an actual beer. The funny thing is that this beer is not even sticky, it is just bad like S***. anyway, don’t waste your money, avoid it

toffeeslot (119) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 22, 2012
A fun spiced beer. Gingerbread, cloves, warming alcohol. Pretty good Christmas beer.

330ml bottle, bbe 29/09/12. Appearance is cola-brown with a decent beige head. Aroma is pure gingerbread and christmas spices, not much else. Maybe a hint of roast. I can’t say it’s not pleasant, it’s just that if I wanted to smell gingerbread I’d bake some, not go for a beer. Taste is musty and flat with some roasty malt and christmas spice. Well carbonated but the mouthfeel is thin and watery. Not very good.

jongo (85) - Stockholm, Sweden, SWEDEN - DEC 19, 2010
Bottle. Seethru black with reddish hue and big tan foam. Aroma is gingerbread that cinnamon, ginger and other spices. A light sniff of chocolate also comes thru. Taste is similar to the aroma except that ginger dominates especially with the hard artificial carbonation and gives a harsh ginger astringent ginger flavor. Little more then light body, sticky, lively and spicey on the tongue long strong gingery finish. Overall: plus:good christmasy aroma. Negative:astingency, thin feel and GINGER that dominates too much.

As much as i love BrewDog, this one was not for me. Nevertheless quite interesting. Lots of christmas spices, for me it felt more like drinking a christmas cookie than drinking a beer. Lots of cinnamon, ginger and clove?? -- Interesting but not good imo, could not finish it :(
