Batch 291, BB 17-10-11, sampled on December 15, 2010
Clear deep red color, smallish light brown head. First scent is mainly spicy. Then one (me) finds citrus, clove, cocoa, ginger, also sweet. A bit flat, dryish, cocoa, flor, apple taste. Dry cocoa powder aftertaste. Medium, low co2 mouthfeel, sort of smooth. Some alcohol bite/warming feeling. Medium bitterness.
Bottle courtesy of Jan, many thanks Jan! shared with my dad 05.11.10 Pours quite a dark brown colour with light beige head that is creamy textured. Incredibly spicy nose, nutmeg, star anise, cinnamon, it’s all there along with some fine dark cocoa, quite stunning aroma. Cocoa powder in the mouth, dry finish, the taste is good, its chocolaty, malty and spicy but as fine as it is never quite reaches the high bar that the aroma set. Bottle. Very dark brown with a fluffy beige foam. Aromas are woody and nutty marzipan with coriander and cloves. Herbal and floral with roast coffee and liquorice. Flavours are coffee with hazelnut syrup and woody spices. Dry with spicy ginger and cloves. Light chocolate with more spices to finish. Very festive if a bit thin bodied. olio (10668) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 9, 2011
33 cl bottle.Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - DEC 1, 2010
Pours clear dark ruby red colour with medium head. Strong aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom and some ginger. Some light malts, mild hoppy fruits and grass also. Flavour of spices, light caramel malts, grass, some vegetables and nuts. Strong CO2, medium-bodied, maybe a bit too thin.
It’s black/red-brown with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of Christmas spices, cocoa and licorice. The flavour is moderately sweet and rather thin with notes of Christmas spices, ginger, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, and the finish is dry.

Dark brown with a small tan head.
Very spicy nose, reminded strongly of gingerbread. The taste was not as spicy. Bitter taste with a rather thin mouth feel. Artful beer, ok but not in balance, one can safely say. Drinkable, but a bit "bothersome" in the long run.

Bottle from OBS, Bryne. Pours dark brown with a massive spongy beige head. Strong sweet aroma of ginger and cocoa. Taste is too much of that ginger and cocoa, with a peppery end from the ginger. Too unbalanced, and too much spices without character.

Bottle. Low fluffy light brown head. Hazy dark brown body. Spicy peppery cinnamon aroma and flavor that is pretty sweet. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste. Svesse (8921) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 2, 2013
(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty spicy nose with ginger, liquorice, dark bread, ginger biscuits, brown sugar and a touch of chocolate. Malty, spicy taste with notes of ginger, liquorice, cocoa, black rye bread, lots of gingerbread and a certain spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, mainly dry. Brings me back to mom’s gingerbread at Christmas (and makes me sound a bit like Proust...). Quite nice.
