Bottle. Dark, dark ruby, almost black pour, minuscule off-white head. Aroma is indeed in the spirit of christmas. It smells like all the good christmas-sweets. Lots of cinnamon, ginger, pepper and sugar. Taste is very similar, with sweet ginger and cinnamon, pepper, cocoa. Slightly sour and with some hops in the finish. Big body, low carbonation. As a christmas beer, this is a very interesting and refreshing brew, albeit slightly off-balance and a bit too punchy perhaps. It is very innovative, and an enjoyable alternative to the wide selection of christmas brews. jesperhammer (4727) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 28, 2010
27-NOV-2010, bottle @home, from "Superbrugsen".
Dark brown with nice off-white head.
All the x-mas spices in the same bowl...!
I had heard a lot of stuff about this brew. Mostly bad...
...but this is actually nice, though the drinkability is not very high.
I guess it must be hard to finish a bottle by yourself?
Too spicey, but fun experience. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 4, 2010
Bottle. "Pours out in a dark brown colour with a rich fluffy tan-coloured head. Spicy aroma of cardamom, ginger, orange-peels and roasted malts. Medium-bodied with notes of orange-peels, gingerbread, roasted malts, anise and mild peppery hops. Medium-bitter dryish and crisp finish of peppery and orangey hops with spicy notes of gingerbread and cardamom. SaintMatty (7300) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - DEC 10, 2010

Big brown head. Black body goes barely translucent brown at edges. Spicy cinnamon cocoa and pine needle aroma with roasty notes. Dry intensely spicy ginger and cinnamon taste with wooden cocoa notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry wooden pine needle aftertaste with roasty cocoa notes. The spiciness is a bit sharp and harsh for such a thin, dry beer, but it’s still a good beer. Bottle. Almost black with a dark red tinge against the light, the head is somewhere between beige and light brown. Aroma: gingerbread, cloves, cinnamon and perhaps some other Christmas spice. Taste: mjuk pepparkaka, Christmas spices, some acidity, fruit, a small grapefruit bitterness, perhaps a bit metallic. I get a flavour of Christmas seasoned coffee without the coffee itself, if that makes sense. Light body, in fact a bit watery and thin. Brewdog have succeeded in creating a very Christmasy beer, but it’s quite unbalanced, and lacks something extra to make it work fully. Borup (14332) - Albertslund, DENMARK - DEC 25, 2010
Bottle from Coop Supermarket. Almost black with a medium beige head. Aroma and flavour of christmas spice, fruit and roasted malt. trapez (1563) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - DEC 27, 2010
Bottle. Very Christmaslike aroma with plenty of cinnamon and cloves. Dark brown coour with light brown head. Very atypical stout, but I like the very spiced flavour which also has a longlasting aftertaste. Ungstrup (37291) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 30, 2011
Bottled. A chestnut-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of spices - cardemomme and cinnamon, combined with notes of roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of cardemomme, roasted malt, wood, ginger, and chocolate, leading to a dry, roasted, and spicy finish.
