COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in May 2008. And then forgotten about. A beautiful accident. An unsuspecting masterpiece. A beery time capsule. This imperial stout has been agen in a Scotch whisky cask for over 4 years. For more than 45 long months this beer lay hidden in oak in the depths of our north cast of Scotland warehouse. When we brewed the first ever batch of Tokyo, we descided to fill three whisky casks, two Highland and one Lowland, Tokyo Rising Sun is the result.

29.12.2016, 0,33l bottle (#84/351) shared with friends @ home:
Small slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild and slightly dry mineraly, weeds, oak, minerals, bark, alcohol, burnt grain, paper, dark malts. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish fruity, dark sugar, minerals, raisins, oak, alcohol, grass, leather, peat, caramel, prunes. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel (even though it’s almost kind of watery compared to the Highland edition). Nice.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - close to opaque black with a thin but attractive head. Nose - woody, whisky chocolate. Tar. Jamaica cake. Taste - more Jamaica cake with rich boozy chocolate backdrop. Palate - rich and full bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry and balanced finish. Overall - really persistent.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black , nose is chocolate and liquorice, taste is sweet, boozy, chocolate, shame about the rip-off shareholder price.

33cl. Bottle. Pours black with little light brown head. Aroma coffee, alcohol, whiskey, vanilla, chocolate, spice. Taste vanilla smooth sweet, little warming alcohol. Mouthfeel oily. Amazing beer, smooth compared to the Highland, also more sweets and less whiskey.

A great old beer. Big imperial stout, pours chocolate black with no head. Chocolate, vanilla, and berries. I feel honored that I had this one. This is a special beer, that sadly, will not be tasted again. (July 2012)
