Bottle 330ml. Full marks. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, herbs, and alcohol. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy white head. Kosmokrator (849) - ITALY - APR 22, 2013
Fenomenale! Christopsy (137) - SCOTLAND - MAY 5, 2013
This is the beer that all stouts want to be. Big, black, (small, quickly evaportating head), fruity, sweet. TriggerHappy (55) - Berlin, NORFOLK ISLAND - OCT 4, 2013
Brązowa piana, słodycz piernika przechodząca w alkoholowy posmak, suszone śliwki i rodzynki, w smaku alkoholowa słodycz. Rewelacja. TorbenJensen (1528) - Valby, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2015
In the beginning is the rich carbonated and I did expect something like Mikkelers Black, but the flavor is limited and sparse and release little hard roasted malt and strong mocha. It tastes sweet with a hint of a little cherry and early deletion nature of stout. Now it’s a beer for gently sipping when you know in advance the strength, but you actually just having it around in all corners of the mouth to sense its true character. The cherries taken over after some time of filling a malty taste with burnt shades, dark chocolate and a little cautious smoked malt. Its expression is clearly vinous, completely in the sweet port wine shades, but alcohol sharpness is nicely tucked out of the way of the other fruit, malt and smoke leaving only faint heat in the throat.
It is superior delicious, but may seem a little too sweet in length. Conversely, its sweet expression to make it drinkable all year around. Many of these quite strong imperials are only reserved for cold and winter, but Tokyo can be enjoyed for a good barbecue dinner a summer evening in the garden. Share it with others, for it is heavy stuff.

ASPETTO: nera impenetrabile, schiuma nocciola chiaro, abbondante, fine e persistente. Consigliatissima. Cokemonkey11 (879) - - OCT 15, 2016
Bottle. Pours black with a ruby hue rim and a thin brown foam that resides in a ring. Scent is hickory smoke. Vanilla. Maybe oak wood. Light resin. Light caramel. Taste is hickory, vanilla, dense resin, and dense cranberries. Smokey wood finish. Flavors of cherries. Some sour notes. Mouthfeel is outrageously smooth. Fantastic. Shoutout to @AshtonMcCobb at Appellation Wines - cheers to my third perfect score. pastradul (43) - California, USA - JUL 9, 2011
i have had this on draft once before. and had for a second time at Stone Brewery this past weekend!
Pours a deep black, with a slight red tint to it when in the light.
Smell: of heavy malt, cranberries and alcohol
mouthfeel: like crinking candy syrup. So think and heavy. Pretty much exactly what you would expect it to feel like for an 18% Stout.
Taste: initial heavy malt that quickly turns into sweet cranberry covering the mouth followed by a strong alcohol warmth!
overall: This is an amazing beer. I have two bottle sitting in my "cellar" right now, The best before date is december 2019! I don’t know how long I will sit on them... but is going to be a while! thearmi (31) - Riga, LATVIA - JUL 2, 2012
Very strong and full-bodied flavour, dark and clody. You can clearly feel the alcohol, however, it’s still mild enough. A bottle to enjoy the whole evening. Worth the try - something really special. drmet (964) - Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, GERMANY - JAN 2, 2016
