Please note this is the second batch of Tokyo, which is different to the 12.5% first batch.

Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.
Formally 18.2 % ABV

[5041-20121231] Tap. Roasted nutty wood and charred grains aroma. Black body with a long-lasting creamy light tan head. Super boozy roasted booze flavour has a sweet booze highlight and some more booze in the finish. Full body. Silliness aside, its definitely boozy-- I mean, interesting to try, and surprisingly balanced. (7/4/8/4/15) 3.8

Old bottle of the 18.2% version bought in Whole Foods Market Kensington several years back. Nose is sweet, roasted malts, black sugar, chocolate, black coffee, candy sugar, vanilla,. On the taste this is big and rich. Dark chocolate, candy sugar, vanilla, black coffee, roasted malt, dark fruits, black sugar. I was expecting this to be yeasty and Marmitey having been aged 5 years or so, but its not at all. Sweet and very nice.

On tap at Brewdog Bar Tallinn. Pours pitch black colour. Thin beige line of froth around the glass. Cranberries, cocoa and bitter chocolate in the aroma. Craberries, notes of caramel, bitter chocolate, notes of oak, very slight hints of peat. Slight alcochol. Dry finish. Sourness of the cranberries, cocoanibs and bitter chocolate in the aftertaste. Alcochol very well covered. Heavy bodied, well balanced, bit sharp, medium carbonated, solid brew. Quite complex as well.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2017 Tap at BrewDog Tallinn. Very dark brown, small ring beige head. Blackcurrant, cranberry, roast, coffee, dark chocolate in aroma. Very dark 90% chocolate, cherries, cranberry, some salty notes, roast in taste. Very rich taste. Some booze in aftertaste. Full bodied, quite lively carbo that makes it very easily drinkable. Thats a bomb, very well covered alcohol (served in cold degrees). Amazing!

Kapitalny kontrast miedzy mocną słodyczą a żurawiną i nutami dębowymi.

Bottle 0,33L. Courtesy of Gregor. Flat black color look with small, creamy, dark brown head that mostly dissipate fast. Aroma of alcohol mixed with dark chocolate, sherry, dark dried fruits, espresso, reminds me of griotte chocolate candy. Heavy sweet, chocolate and cherry taste with some brandy notes and long lasting aftertaste. Masterpiece for occasional use...

aroma of sweet coffee, wood, dried fruits, rather weak and a bit disappointing.
black, very black. top short, reduces to crown, has some lacing
taste is intriguing, very sweet countered by minor coffee notes. a finish starts with fruity sour, red currant/cranberry. ends with something more bitter and... intense alcohol (considering the power tho, it doesnt feel like 16.5%)
very dense, full body, carbonation medium
its not a great beer. but its crazy, its different which makes it... kinda great beer. not the best ive ever tried, but im nearly sure ill want to have another bottle of it.

Shared bottle. Pitch black beer with brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, cranberries, dark fruits, licorice, chocolate, alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter, of dark fruits, cranberries, bitter chocolate, alcohol, roasty. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Boozy (which is not a surprise), although not in an unpleasant way. Very fruity for an imperial stout. Aggressive, powerful and truly unique.
