The constant, unrelenting noise becomes something purer than sound – reverberating through every part of you as the eyes rush to take in the pixelated arcade action. It’s all-pervading. Small silver coins are your life-blood, Player 1.
Our most involved beer, Tokyo* is an Imperial Stout brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries, dry-hopped with a bucket-load of our favourite hops and then carefully aged on toasted French oak chips.
It’s all about moderation. Everything in moderation, Player 1. What logically follows is that you must from time to time, have excess. This beer is for those times.

330 ml bottle shared with czar and company. Pours black. Aroma is chocolate, alcohol, fruits and wood. Flavor is chocolate, cranberry, fruits, coffee, figs, hazelnut. Finish is loads of fruits, spices. Mostly raisins. Lingering brown sugar, burnt sugar. Thick body, oily, velvety mouthfeel and weak carbonation. Very solid.

Taste: Big, bold, thick, boozy, oakey, cranberries, herbal, molasses malty. Black/Brown and opaque. Big woody alcohol nose. heavy body with a dark tan, head with small lace. Warming and as intense as they come.

chinchill (5396) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 8, 2015
12 oz bottle. Dark red brown with a minimal head (but from a gentle pour). Rich sweet, inviting aroma. Overly sweet flavor up front but good balance eventually appears, and the late aftertaste is mildly bitter. Good complexity.

jspronck (162) - BELGIUM - JUL 6, 2015
Dark brown color with beige head, aromas of fruit (cherries, raisins, grapes and berries) and toasted malts (coffee). Full-bodied, thick texture. In mouth, feels like mollasses and fruit. Can feel the ABV (16.5% on the bottle) but not overwhelming. Very sweet with a long dry and bitter coffee finish. Beautiful complexity. I remember thinking that this was close to a fortified wine. Very interesting.

Luvystypotables (2099) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUN 20, 2015
Aroma of malt and whiskey, with a hint of caramel. Pours a dark black with a short lasting tan head. Taste of malt, caramel and pepper with a sweet whiskey finish. Thick full bodied feel.

maxbol77 (13) - SLOVENIA - JUN 1, 2015
Dark almost black with thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, some sweet-sour fruitiness, nicely hopped, oaky, smoked. Sweet with tones of sourness with bitter dry finish. Complex and interesting beer, very tasty.

Stark! Mycket öl för pengarna!

mbgrayson (818) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - APR 5, 2015
Twelve once bottle of Tokio*. ABV of 18.2%. Pours dark black, with a nice cream colored head. Aroma of cranberry and dark malts. Tastes of alcohol and stout, with notes of fruit. This one is very good, but there is too much going on to be great. Still a clear thumbs up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black, nose is chocolate, fruity, taste is similar, lacks the punch of the 18% version.

Alengrin (5902) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
Basically a fruit stout, considering the fact that it contains cranberries, but in fact one of Brewdog’s many experiments with the imperial stout style. Jasmin flowers are apparently also added to the mash. Black beer with beige head and complex and overpowering aroma of candied dates, pear syrup, calvados, coffee powder, flowers and indeed a sourish fruitiness coming from the cranberries, as well as some brandy-like booze. Very intense and concentrated taste, sweetish candied fruits, chocolate, thick, almost syrupy and oily mouthfeel, profound maltiness, meaty, rhum-like warming alcohol in the end with cranberry hints and herbal hops, complex. A truly wonderful impy.
