COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tropic Thunder is the winner of HomeBrewDog; the brainchild of Tom Doyle, this beer was the highest rated of the 307 beers that were tasted.

Tropic Thunder packs cocoa powder and fresh espresso on the nose, followed by a dry and roasty overload – bitter chocolate, toast crust, and burnt toffee with a light charred note and a finish softened by bittersweet orange peel.

Aus der Flasche getrunken (Direktkaif bei BrewDog). Tiefschwarz mit wenig Schaum. Ein überzeugendes fuchtiges Semi-Imperial Stout.

Bottle bought from a local Tesco a couple of months ago. Pours very dark brown. Not too thick looking. Light tan head with a bit of fluff that lasts. Nice roasty aroma. A little chai tea. Chocolate. A touch of distant smoke. Christmas orange peel. Very light clove. Taste has a light fudgey sweetness. Some coffee coming through. Definitely a little orange zest. A little milk and dark chocolate. Has a slightly sharp, bitter bite about it. Burnt sugar. Decent length of finish that’s got a lovely oiliness on the palate. Slick body that’s a decent weight. Soft carbonation. Really roasty at the end. Not bad.

Zapach bardzo intensywny, dużo czekolady i kakao. Leciutka kawa. Z delikatnym aromatem pomarańczy. Kojarzy mi się z czekoladą w płynie. W smaku jeszcze bardziej intensywne. Bardzo czekoladowe. Pozostaje na podniebieniu jakbyśmy jedli taką wysoką procentową czekoladę gorzką. Kakao z czasem przechodzi w mocno paloną kawe. Są również praliny i bardzo fajna czekoladowa owocowość. Jak gorzka czekolada ze skórką pomarańczy na wierzchu. Goryczka wysoka, palona, trochę zalegająca. Ale generalnie jest lekko słodkawe. W tle przyjemna melasa i ciemne owoce. Pełne i gęste. Świetne piwo. Z każdym łykiem kojarzy mi się z jedzeniem dobrej jakości gorzkiej czekolady z kawałkami pomarańczy.

Great stout. Rich tasting the orange plays around with the tongue rich coffee and chocolate come into play. Aroma and mouthfeel worthy of an impy stout.

33cl bottle. Poured almost black with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, molasses cocoa, coffee notes. The flavour is moderate sweet with a sweet roasty malt liquorice dry smoky ashtray palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottled. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small light brown head. Sweet chocolate aroma, with subtle orange and a hint of coffee. Sweet at the start, with a soft velvety texture - definitely like eating a chocolate orange! Some dryness in the finish. Good, but not quite as deep or complex as expecting.

Bottle from Tesco. Black body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder and orange peel. Flavour of candied pineapple and chocolate. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Rich and enjoyable.
