COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, series
The unsung heroes, the foot soldiers of the revolution. We owe a huge debt to the billions of tiny yeast cells that work tirelessly to ferment sugars into alcohol and CO2. But yeast isn’t just here for the grunt work. Yeast has the power to change the flavour, aroma and complexion of your beer in an instant. This series is designed to showcase the impact different yeasts have on the same base beer.
This series of 4 beers gives the limelight to four totally different yeast strains: Belgian Trappist, Pilsen Lager, American Ale and Bavarian Weizen. All 4 beers have been brewed to the same ABV using a blend of Centennial and Amarillo hops and a backbone of Pale Ale, Munich and Cara Malts. Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal Malt, Caramalt
Hops: Centennial, Amarillo
Twist: Each beer is identical except for the different yeast used to ferment the beers creating 4 radically different beers from the same starting point

330ml bottle, batch 240, from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Shared with Finn. Hazy amber coloured body. Rocky off-white head, fine duration. Aroma of citrus on a backbone of grass. Sappy fruity taste added by herbal hops and a backdrop of yeasty fruitiness. Final touch of dried fruits. Rounded mouth feel.

Aprikosfarget. Lavt skum. Litt uklar. Gjennomgående preg av fersken & plommer. Myk munnfølelse. Gjørmete siste kvelling.

16.11.2013. Hedelmäinen, humalainen tuoksu, jotain apan ja ipan väliltä. Kohtuullisen hedelmäinen, kohtuullisen kevyt. Ihan kelpo tuotos.

Ostatnia odsłona Unleash The Yeast.

Bottled. Orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, mild grass and some toffeeish notes. Flavour is toffee, fruits, floral notes as well as some herbal notes. Balanced.

One of the four beers in this interesting Brewdog experiment, in which a fairly complex and hoppy beer is each time fermented with a different type of yeast. This one, like the others, bears a stable, snow white, moussy head and shows a deep orange blonde colour, but turned a bit more hazy than the others and had a kind of pinkish hue. Aroma much stronger than the others, delicately perfumed with rose petals, citrus peel, vanilla, white wine, kiwi, strawberries and grapefruit, apart from the biscuit and walnut tones from the malt. Taste reflects this, exotic fruits, utterly flowery, perfumey and ethereal, very citrussy, over the nutty and slightly toasted malt backbone; long, very floral, peppery and very citrussy hop finish. To me and the two other people tasting this, this stood out as the best and most complex of these four beers, but I do wonder if it indeed has exactly the same hop profile as the others...

Hazy amber color, average sized off white head. Medium body, average carbonation. Aroma of exotic fruits, citrus and a hint of pine. Medium sweet, light bitter taste. The best one from this yeast series, by far.

---Rated BY Italianbeer85
