KEg and bottled, series
The unsung heroes, the foot soldiers of the revolution. We owe a huge debt to the billions of tiny yeast cells that work tirelessly to ferment sugars into alcohol and CO2. But yeast isn’t just here for the grunt work. Yeast has the power to change the flavour, aroma and complexion of your beer in an instant. This series is designed to showcase the impact different yeasts have on the same base beer.
This series of 4 beers gives the limelight to four totally different yeast strains: Belgian Trappist, Pilsen Lager, American Ale and Bavarian Weizen. All 4 beers have been brewed to the same ABV using a blend of Centennial and Amarillo hops and a backbone of Pale Ale, Munich and Cara Malts. Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal Malt, Caramalt
Hops: Centennial, Amarillo
Twist: Each beer is identical except for the different yeast used to ferment the beers creating 4 radically different beers from the same starting point

Litt uklar lys kobberfarge med et kremet skum som festet seg godt til glassveggen. Aroma av malt, krydder, gress og gjær. Smaken følger aroma fin bitterhet i avsluttningen.

minutemat (6254) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2014
330ml bottle from Pours hazy orange, citrus peel aroma, taste is fruity and sweet, orange, citrus, caramel, yeast, bread, spice, sticky citrus lingering on the finish.

Theydon_Bois (21484) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2014
Keg at BD on da Bush, 31/05/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is spice, bread dough, citric peel. Taste comprises bread dough, yeast esters, mandarin, lemon peel, light spice, grassy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so - drinkable enough but gets a bit boring, not one to revisit.

0,33L bottle, BB 26.09.2014. Pours slightly hazy golden. The head stays for a brief moment. Aroma is sweet, fresh fruits, and yeast. Taste is sweet, sour, fresh fruits, vegetables, and some bitterness. Overall: wouldn’t drink this one again.

The wiff is passes by. Very smooth body. Goes down well. Nothing remarkable. Lingers a little bit. Leaves more to be wanted.

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Rune. Kosedrikk i heimen 21 Mai 14. Gyldenbrun. Pent luftig skum som varer en stud. Kniplingslacing. Forsiktig krydderaroma. Smaken har samme krydderpreget men gjæren slår gjennom etter hvert. Veldig bitter ettersmak. Ikke helt vellykket

Bottle. Aroma spicy, saisony. Light citrusy, barnyard background. Clear orange colour. Taste is in the same spirit. Spicy, citrusy. Quite good.

Garrold (5844) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2014
Tap at Brewdog, Sheffield. Hazy orange. Thick, lasting, white head. Oranges. Bread dough. Yeast. Light mintiness. Lovely aroma. Taste doesn’t live up to that, though, for me. Palate neither. All felt a bit bull and flat.
