Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

Pours almost black with a quite small off white head. Aroma is a little burnt, some dried friut. Taste is light with a slight burnt flavour, a little to fullbodied for a schwarz, but very drinkable.

330 ml bottle from Passion Birra. Served in a snifter. Pours a black as night, with some rich blood red highlights., with two finger espresso-brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffe beans, smoke, maybe a hint of dark chocolate too. Same flavours in the mouth longside some hops bitterness that leaves a pleasent aftertaste. The carbonation is there, spot-on and help the drinking abilty. Lightly watery texture in a tipical Schwarzbier fashion. I could drink this stuff everytime, what a great session beer! Awesome label design too!

dark black brown, headless, screaming 10% at ya... yet carries only 4.9 of those bitches... aroma has some liquorish, some malts, but is very thin... taste is something else... light bitter sweet, but smokey in the back of the mouth, salt, coffey, terrific... finish is short but intense with bitter and smoke.... light beer with an awesome taste

Quite a story to the beer... well here we go. A dark, brown and I think slightly hazy body, bubbly head. Arona has dough, caramel, butterscotch and cereal but is ultimately not overly inspiring. Starts fairly sweet with stout-like malts and graduately goed bitter. Dryness in the back of the mouth lingers on. Thin body. Not too impressed really. For who is is beer? Too black and bitter for a beginner, too watery and straightforward for a beergeek, I recon. (33cl bottle)

330 ml bottle from Systembolaget.
Pours a dark brown colour with a frothy, lacy, slightly beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and some coffee. Flavour of roasted malts, coffee, raw floral hops and some smoke. Light bodied with a creamy mouthfee. Fizzy carbonaton. Dry, roasty, light smokey finish. Easy.
