COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

Bottle from [email protected]mstad. Dark redblack colour that could be mistaken for a dark redwine save for the head and carbonation. Tanned head. Smells slightly metallic and of old stuffed attic. Carbonation is lively at first, but dies quickly. Waterly taste of roasted malts. Hints of coffee. Has a snappy bitterish aftertaste. Enjoyable, but this isnt really a "good" beer if I am to give the word justice.

15/20 nice chewy taste, loads of taste, very easy to drink, surprisingly low alcohol, creamy taste with a bitter finish, so well balanced ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Was very unpleasantly surprised by this. Was expecting a smooth black lager but instead it came out as a weak stout. Very much filled with coffee and even smoke. Maybe its just an unfamiliar style but give me a tmavy of this any day.

A smoky and burnt caramel flavoured beer. Solid bitter finish. This is an enjoyable black lager. Not sure its quite the schizophrenic Schwartzbier original that Brewdog are making out it is: I sometimes think the marketing crew are seeing how far their ridiculous sloganeering can go before the drinkers cry foul. 7/10. Tasty. Drink the beer, dont read the bottle!

Middelfart 31/3 2017. 33 cl can from Kvickly. Usual cool design from Brewdog in Blue and silver. Pours opaque dark brown with light brown head. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam. Lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is intense. Sweet dark malts, a little smoke, brown sugar and leather. Soft carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by medium bitterness. A little thin. Aftertaste is lightly bitter and smoky. I do not know if a strange slightly smoky brew is "The Spirit of the time". But its certainly drinkable.

Pours slightly transparent black with good beige head. Aroma crisp malt and a hint of roasted malt and a metallic note. Fairly highly carbonated but small bubbles with thin mouth feel. Taste is crisp lager hops with a nice light malt balance, slight touch of chocolate and some smoke. Finish is dry and bitter.

Pours dark brown from the bottle and leaves a tan head. Some lacing. The aroma is smoke, chocolate, a touch of nail polish. Taste is burnt toast, bitter, mineral undertones, with a light sourness. Kind of dull, but then again Im not a huge fan of the Schwarzbier style. The body stays to the light side of medium. Okay.
