3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Charred roastiness slowly disappears into subtle molasses sweetness and its fruity edges before leaving room for a green hop bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the blackness.
-Carbonation is soft and the mouthfeel is almost plump (for the style).
-This is a drinkable yet forgettable Schwarzbier experience.
-Hops are relatively low profile in this one.
-That green hop bitterness is potent and lasting.

330 ml can from local shop. Pours black with a lasting brown head, some lacing present. Very nice aroma, sweet, dark fruit, coca, plum. Taste is mostly plum, coffee and dark fruit. Medium-bodied, lasting bitterness, a bit empty in the middle. Quite nice, easy on the palate for a dark beer. Grumbo (3756) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2017
