COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

Dark, almost black. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Sweet, roasted aroma, hoppy too, faint salt. Flavor starts light sweet and finish heavy bitter. Dry texture.

Fluffy beige head stayed well on a jet black still body. Malt, chocolate & coffee aroma. To the fore, before you actually taste it feels just like a lager on the palate. Sharp, clean & well carbonated. Medium bodied. Hard to pick the flavours, tastes like a lager but with a hoppy, bitter back. Theres also coffee, malt & chocolate knocking about. Quite a weird sensation, the look & smell are not like the actual taste.

Bottle. Was very unpleasantly surprised by this. Was expecting a smooth black lager but instead it came out as a weak stout. Very much filled with coffee and even smoke. Maybe its just an unfamiliar style but give me a tmavy of this any day.

A smoky and burnt caramel flavoured beer. Solid bitter finish. This is an enjoyable black lager. Not sure its quite the schizophrenic Schwartzbier original that Brewdog are making out it is: I sometimes think the marketing crew are seeing how far their ridiculous sloganeering can go before the drinkers cry foul. 7/10. Tasty. Drink the beer, dont read the bottle!

330ml can. Aroma of lager, toasted malt and citrusy hops. The taste is light sweet, light bitter, dry and toasted. Nice.

Dark chocolate colour with small beige head. Taste crisp lager with a touch of caramel decent and refreshing.
