Draft at the Monocacy Brewing Company location. Poured a near black color with a small tan head. Aroma was a bunch of fresh, cold coffee, with some roasted malt notes and a touch of chocolate. Flavor was a bit like espresso, with some roasted malt notes, chocolate. Pretty tasty, nice ABV notes worked out well. Travlr (25558) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Draft. Completely black color, bright beige head with good retention. Aroma of Starbucks. Taste is dark riasted coffee and coffeegrounds. The ciffee overwhelms the beer characteristics. radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - JAN 21, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2013 According to Brewer’s this is a imperial coffee stout. Draft at the brewpub, served in a small snifter glass. Deep dark brown color with a finger of tan head. Aroma of strong coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate and hop notes. Taste was strong roasted coffee balanced with thick malt sweetness. Heavy body, low carbonation, strong, creamy and rich. Some coffee bits remained at the bottom of the glass. If you really like coffee try this. Pretty good. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - JAN 19, 2013

I had this beer on tap at the brewpub in March 2012. The beer had a full black color with a medium-sized creamy dark tan head that had average retention, and good cling and lacing. The aroma was dominated by a slightly roasty coffee malt scent, along with some cereal, and earthy and grainy hops. The taste was very coffee-like and sweet and malty, but with a good bitter component as well. It was a fairly wet and somewhat watery beer, with a light, creamy consistency, and had low carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel.
