Appearance: cloudy, buttery gold with a thick white head and decent lacing. Aroma: honey, funk, and citrus. Taste: sweet and funky notes of orange zest, with some herbal must. Finish: tart and a little dry. Notes: On draft at Birch and Barley. According to the beer menu, made with some smoked malts, but there was nary a hint of smoke to be detected in taste or aroma. Essentially an average American saison.

Another in this summer’s trend (for me, at least) of many herb-inflected beers. Notes of chewing gum, pot pourri, smoke, salami, and fruit. Yellow color. Decent layers, interesting. (on tap, Church Key, Washington DC) argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 22, 2013
