Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of nimbleprop. Pours a hazy golden with a huge, frothy and lacing white head. Very fresh pepper aroma atop a sweet fruitiness. Solid body, sweet fruit and yeast with the pepper notes reappearing late. Some subtle hops and a little alcohol heat. Very interesting and innovative. 180911 Travlr (24784) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 14, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2010 Cask at Max’s. Cloudy dark gold, scant head. Aroma of black pepper. Flavor of black pepper. To be expected, I suppose, but pointless to add this much pepper. 2.8
Second tasting, 750 ml bottle. Pepper is still too prominent, but less overpowering than the cask version. 2.9. Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2011
Bottle at the Funky 6. Pours hazy gold with a solid, white head. Strong yeast, malt aroma with Belgian sugar and caramel. Nicely sweet, some fruits and definite pepper spiciness. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. There’s some mild, warming alcohol in the finish with subtle, burnt sugar and lingering spice. Very nice beer. fiulijn (20515) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 22, 2012
Tasting at Papsø’s, corked bottleKoelschtrinker (20399) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 1, 2011
Cloudy bond color, with generous, eggwhite-like head. Nice aroma of pepper and nettles. Sweetish malt flavor, elegant, fresh, with light Belgian yeast character, and very pleasant peppery touch; correct bitterness. The combination of pepper and sweetness is superior to other drier beers. Very good.
Ausgewogen prickelnd-hefiger Antrunk, etwas hellmalzig werdend. Herb, mittelaromatisch, im Abgang hefig-fruchtig. 9/9/9/11/8/9
