Pours a dark amber at Pratt Street Brewery. Creamy off white head. Lots of spices. Licorice. Coriander. Cinnamon. Yuck. I really don't like this style thou I suppose they do it well. Hardly beer though. Emeister84 (2505) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2013
Dried fruit, citrus, floral, perfume, and cardamom aromas. Hazy red-brown with a lasting, beige head. Dry, floral, fruity, and spicy. Medium body, prickly carbonation, and a refreshingly clean finish. freekyp (2387) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Pours dark chestnut with small tan head. Nose shows ginger, orange, anise and cupcakes. Thick mouthfeel with a spritzy finish that scrapes the tongue. Well blended flavors. JDBaker11058 (2334) - Maryland, USA - JAN 14, 2014
Appearance dark, opaque brown with one finger of thick, creamy light tan head. Aroma: spices up front (cinnamon, clove, black pepper, allspice), over herbal hops and some brown bread and fruitcake. Taste: figs, plums, molasses, herb, light pine, graham cracker, and holiday spice melange. Finish: lingering fruit and spice, light sweetness. Notes: Perfectly fine. Basically a dark Belgian with what I’ve come to view as the typical ’holiday spice bucket’, so common in Christmas beers, tossed in. Beerdvent 2013 selection.

750ml bottle. Pours dark mahogany color with a tan one finger head that dissipates slowly and leaves a wispy lace. Sweet Belgian candi sugar aroma with burnt caramel in the background. Taste is similar to the aroma with sweet Belgian candi sugar, and hints of fruits in the background. Slight tastes of orange peel and ginger. Very strong and boozy. Medium body and medium carbonation.

2013 bottle: Beautiful very dark brown pour once the foamy head discipates. Has good lacing & a decent retaining tan head. The aroma is quite soft & malty. The taste is also mild but has a very nice mouthfeel. It’s malty, a touch spicy, & fairly boozy. Quite a nice brew overall! guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - JAN 18, 2004
Hazy orange appearance with an average size head that left good lacing on the glass. Yeasty aroma developed as it reapproached room temerature. An herbal, pepper spice taste that was balanced by a fruity, green apple flavor. Slightly bitter, dry finish. kassner (1686) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2009
