750 ml corked and caged bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2 (Thanks Brad!) poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of toffee, cola, earthiness, spice and dried fruit. 750mL corked & caged bottle. Date on the side: 10/11/14. Pours a murky light mahogany color with a thick and creamy khaki head. Cherries, plums, figs, caramel, a spicy tang, and a rich bready maltiness feature in the aroma. Medium-bodied and smooth on the way down. The taste starts with a little caramel, toffee, and cola. Dark cherries, plums, and figs follow. Some tangy citrus rinds are present at the end. A spiciness and some warming alcohol are present from start to finish.

I’d been holding onto the 2013 bottle for way too long, so it was time to drink it, even though it is in the height of Summer. Ah well. This one poured a medium brown color, touch of ruby notes, and a gigantic light tan head. I mean huge, even though it was served almost immediately out of the fridge. This one foamed like crazy. Once it settled (relatively quickly), it was ready to drink. Sweet molasses, dark brown sugar and notes of light spices. Flavor was nice easy to drink sweet molasses, toffee, with some light spices.

2013 bottle: Beautiful very dark brown pour once the foamy head discipates. Has good lacing & a decent retaining tan head. The aroma is quite soft & malty. The taste is also mild but has a very nice mouthfeel. It’s malty, a touch spicy, & fairly boozy. Quite a nice brew overall!

Pours dark chestnut with small tan head. Nose shows ginger, orange, anise and cupcakes. Thick mouthfeel with a spritzy finish that scrapes the tongue. Well blended flavors.

Bottle that I took to Campground Brewdown 2. Pours a clear brown with a thin to medium sized tan head. Fuzzy musk on the nose, sweet with some caramel notes and toffee. Toffee, caramel, toast. Light spice. More caramel and toffee with a bit of faint bitterness into the finish.
