COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A mass-market brewery simply could not make a beer like this. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bursting with flavor, it has phenomenal body and freshness. Hazy to the eye, and full on the palate.

6 week brewing time. Barley, yeast, hops and water.

Can. Mostly plain white. As ’Unfiltered Lager’ 5.0%. Hazy paleish gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is smooth and has reasonable fine carbonation. Soft malts, quite sweet. Sweetish floralness. Very light floral citrus. Trace of soft pine on the soft finish. A bit sweet but not too bad.

Bottled. Cloudy golden yellow appearance with plenty of carbonation. Not a strong aroma - yeast/dough dominates. I’m struggling to describe the taste - not pilsner, not weisse, not a sharp hoppy lager. Something in the middle - mild banana with a subtle bitterness. Nice on the palate but not overly distinctive.

Keg at Jackson + Rye in Richmond. Slightly cloudy gold appearance, nice refreshing balance of hops and malt with a hint of citrus. Really nice lager.

3rd June 2017: mini tasting session with my wife. 330ml can into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ badged stemmed tulip glass. Can BBD 1st Sep 2017, bought from a Waitrose store. Hazy golden yellow, white topping. Citrus notes in both the nose and taste, herbal traces too. Decent.

Really good Helles. Refreshing yet full of flavour. Can’t think of many better in the style.

Can from Waitrose, Rickmansworth. Hazy Lager, with a lot of zesty, fruity hops in there. Soft palate, and very drinkable. Surprisingly good.
