COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy Belgian Ale. This red ale is all about hops. It is an American-Belgian fusion of beer styles taking imported Belgian caramel malts and bitch slapping it with a heavy handed dose of American hops. Expect hints of mango, pineapple, and citrus to hit your nose with an assertive hop presence.

May 23 at Beercade Emporium. Pours red in the provided tulip glass. A fresh, hoppy smell; what seems like a Citra nose. Same hops dancing around on my tongue. Malts are recognizable those of an amber or "Red Ale," but just there to support APA level hops.

Aroma is tropical fruit, pine, yeasty, dry, funk, pretty balanced. Appearance is reddish brown, light tan head, hazy. Taste is pine, tropical fruit, Belgian yeast, weird dryness, malty, eh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, syrupy dry pine yeast aftertaste. Overall, not my jam.

Its definitely got that wonderful fruity aroma, and a wonderful red pour. It lacks a nice head and tastes a little too similar to one-hop IPAs at the end, but overall I would say its a pretty decent beer.

Pours a deep amber/brown with a thick sticky tan colored head atop. Floral and grassy hops dominate the nose along with light spiced phenols, quite spiced in fact, more of a pepper and clove note. The grassy hops are big on the palate with a dryer malt base, phenols give off spice but not in your face, somewhat earthy in the finish.

Shared 16 ounce can. Pours a clear amber with a decent off-white head. Aroma of citrus and malt. Taste is grapefruit, malt, tropical, and caramel. Interesting in a nice way.

Poured a reddish orange with a white head. Aroma was of Belgian yeast and herbal hop s. Flavor is sweet, Belgian forward for sure. Not much about this is ipa.

Draft. Deep amber body. Frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, biscuit, orange, vinegar. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of caramel, citrus. Tartness in the finish along with some vinegar and dusty grain notes.

Can, Ann Arbor, MI via Plum Market. Hazy pale amber. Resin and caramel aroma. Balanced, slightly soapy texture. More caramel and citrus resin. Long mild resin finish.
