Our "Tree Beer" and Brewer’s Grove entry. This is Bourbon Barrel-Aged Tree Bucket and it is just ridiculous. Hops, Oak, and Bourbon in a three part harmony. Cheers to brewers planting trees!

Clear golden coloured body with a crisp glow of barely yellow tint and showing a very small, single centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of bourbon, rum, alcohol, light hops, a dose of sugars and way more alcohol - super potent and clearly the only scent that's really noticeable. Medium-bodied; Ridiculously strong bourbon and scotch/whiskey flavours at first with the oak, dryness and alcohol pungency that you'd expect, and then some! Aftertaste is a touch more resourceful with some light malt, a touch of subdued hops that are grassier and more resinous and ending with more of the barrel and oak notes that drive up the pungency and the potency as well. Overall, a nice and very-recognizably a bourbon oak aged beer, where those deep flavours after a few sips hit very hard and stay quite a while. Good to sample and recommended, especially if you like more pungent Imperial IPAs with the deep alcohol flavours. I sampled this sixteen ounce (pint-sized) can purchased from Siciliano's in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 13-June-2017 for US$6,59 by my dad - Thanks Dad, sampled at home in Washington on 08-September-2017.

4 pack purchased at the source. Poured a cloudy golden color with a medium sized off white head. Bourbon, vanilla, wood, and I would say more sweet and barrel than hoppy ... but I like bourbon beers.

Poured hazy dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus hop, bourbon wood and tropical fruit aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet wood finish of moderate to long duration ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewery. Aromas of toasted coconut, vanilla, light whiskey, citrus. Clear orange with a mostly fading white head. Mostly dry, a little boozy. Full bodied.

Tap at Rochester Tap Room. Pour very clear light yellow/orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is bourbon, toffee, caramel, buttered popcorn Jelly Belly, some smoke, citrus, and lemon. Complex. Flavor is bourbon, toffee, sweet notes, citrus. It’s fine. Not bad but wouldn’t revisit.

Shared 16 oz. cans poured to a fest sampler showing a hazed, golden hue, with a modest layer of white foam that diminished rapidly to a ring & film, and light spots of lacing. The nose was a bit dank, some fruitiness of citrus & tropical scent, light malt sweetness, spice, and some barrel/oak hints. With similar notes, the taste was medium to full bodied, with modest carbonation, continued malt sweetness, moderate earthy & tannic bitterness, with boozy bourbon, and some warmth. Smooth, and somewhat like a barreled Barleywine that retained a good deal of it’s hop influence.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Listed at 11.6% on the can. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, cracker, white bread, floral, and grass; with lighter notes of vanilla, honey, toffee, banana, clove, bubblegum, pine, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, bourbon barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, cracker, white bread, floral, and grass; with lighter notes of vanilla, honey, toffee, banana, clove, bubblegum, pine, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast, bourbon/oak spiciness, and pine/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, cracker, white bread, floral, grass, vanilla, honey, light banana/clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, bourbon barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/sticky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is extremely well hidden; a very mild warmth with zero barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic BBA Belgian DIPA! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, bourbon barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Perfectly balanced between yeast, hops, and bourbon barrel complexity; with just enough pale malts for balance. Never sweet or heavy feeling. A highly enjoyable offering.

Tap. Golden with small head. Big ass beer. Very hoppy with booze, oak and bourbon. Delicious, but a sipper.

Draft to mini-snifter (given out by Brewery Vivant) at their Wood-Aged Beer Fest on 10/4/14. Looks good for the style; a mildly hazy golden orange with foamy eggshell head. Smells good too; a nice fruity hop profile with a nice Belgian yeast backbone that compliments the hops, and some vanilla and oak as well. Tastes like it smells with a nice medium-bodied mouthfeel. Wonderfully balanced with floral notes woven in as well. Great beer!

Draft sample. Poured hazy dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus hop, bourbon wood and tropical fruit aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet wood finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout version.
