Farm Hand: French Style Farmhouse Ale 5.5% abv 16 oz Becher glass There was a time in old world France when nearly every family farm had a brewery. A necessary part of farm life was to provide a ration of beer to sustain and nourish the laborers and beer was safer to drink than the water of the time. Farmhand is our interpretation of what these rustic beers must have been like. It is slightly cloudy from being made with raw un-malted grains a nd a simple single infusion mash procedure.

can. pours very pale golden with a small white cap demonstrating very little retention and no lacing per say. lightly sour-ish small yellow and red fruits, some strawberries too, fresh wheat and its light acidity, hay, pepper, subtle flowery notes. lively to average carbonation, light body, very lightly tart and astringent grassy-herbal-citrusy finish. nice stuff!

Good. Belgian yeast flavor is solid. Only downside is it has a tartness that doesn’t work super well.

Nice looking beer, yellow and cloudy. Smell was slightly citrusy, tasted of funky yeast with a slight tardiness, very nice overall.

Draft at Vivant. Pours a hazy light yellow. Aroma and taste are citrus with some tartness in the end.

This is a standby of mine. A lemony, tart, citrus forward farmhouse ale/saison style which pairs perfectly with food or on its’ own. Pours a deep orange with a small white head and a cloudiness that gives this a hazy quality on the eye. The nose is all lemon with a little hay. Does not veer into sour territory but stays lively enough to stay interesting. Nicely balanced carbonation and little bitterness.

Tart. Lemony. Alot of fruitiness. Not much funkiness. Sweet. I think it would be a nice quencher. Wish she had a little more but I like... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy light golden color with a rapidly dissipating white head. Nose is yeasty with barnyard funk... strong nose ! Taste is light, acidic with upfront yeast, with a nice lemony taste as well. Finish is dry and acidic, yeasty with a moderately long ending. Saison lovers only. Quaff Score 8 / 10

Can. Pours a golden yellow with a white head and aroma of spices and yeast. Taste is light, of lemon, honey, spices, yeast, floral notes, and hops leading to a dry, spicy finish.
